Uncomfortable

I paid for the deluxe stateroom, and expected a king-sized bed, but got two, very small and uncomfortable twin beds. The staff was courteous, but informed that there were no rooms with king beds available. Everytime one of the neighbors shut their room door, it sounded like a gun shot going off. It was overpriced and uncomfortable. I will not recommend this to anyone else.

What Great History

We weren't sure what to expect given the ship's age, but everything was outstanding! The staff was wonderful. The room had the biggest bed we've ever slept on. Everything was extremely clean. The food at the restaurants was great. It really was like stepping back into the elegance of the first cruisers. We were able to tour the engine room and the historical presentations were extremely interesting. we highly recommend this hotel and would love to go back again.

Great for history buffs. The exhibits of QM's artifacts are fascinating.

Original burled wood panels, polished brass hand rails still in use as well as exhibits of the ship's china and cabin furniture make an interesting living history site.

Historical Hotel

If you are looking for a great memory this is the place. Beautiful historical experience. Loved the tour and the dinner we had was outstanding. A little pricey but well worth it. A true night to remember.

Nostalgic but needs improvement

Everyone should stay at the Queen Mary once in their lifetime. It's an extremely interesting place but the accomodations really aren't that nice. They've tried to keep the decor as original, but there are many features that look out of place because they're modern. In our particular room, the temperature was really warm and uncomfortable (no air conditioning controls in the rooms) and the shower was ice cold. The rooms are really not worth the high price you pay, but the ambiance is worth it, just once.

A little warm, but awesome!!

There are no A/C's in the room, so at night it got a little warm. But other than that, it is a pretty cool place to stay!!!!

Needs a *Lot* of improvement!

Part of our deck had a *major* water leak in the middle of our first night, causing some flooding and multiple evacuations to other rooms! The halls stank to high heaven for a couple of days as the staff tried to dry them out. The next night, the emergency alarm system went off at 4 am. It turned out to be a false alarm, but the staff couldn't re-set it properly, and the system went off *two* more times before morning! Not what I'd call a restful stay. There are no microwaves, no free internet, no free parking ... The novelty of staying on the QM is certainly worth something (there's much to see that's interesting), but the quality of the rooms doesn't measure up to other similarly-priced, or even much cheaper, hotels.

Fun historical place!

This was really the highlight of an otherwise crummy vacation. We only spent one night aboard the Queen Mary, but it was clean, comfortable, and you could just FEEL the history all around you. We ate dinner and breakfast in the Promenade Cafe and the food and service were outstanding. They make one of the best cups of coffee I have ever tasted. We also had a coffee milkshake at the little deli by the arcade....it was delicious! The service was impeccable. Next time, we will stay longer and take some of the historical tours...specifically the paranormal tour. No ghostly encounters for us this time, but strangely, all the pictures I took aboard the Queen Mary are corrupted on my digital camera, and can't be accessed. All of my other pictures before & after the Queen Mary are fine.

WE REALLY ENJOY OURSELF 2 YRS. AGO THAT WE HAD TO COME BACK.THE PRICE WAS RIGHT AND THE CLEANESS OF THE HOTEL .THANK YOU FOR HAVING US. AND EVERYONE THERE WERE VERY NICE.
