Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 16Good choice
For business trips all I need is a clean room and shower. Nothing fancy but very functional (including kitchenette). Would use again.

Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 16acceptable
The room was acceptable but that is all. It was a standard room with two double beds. There was a musty smell. The bedspreads were old adn worn and not something you want to touch your skin. The elevator only worked part of the time. The hotel did not want to honor the hotels.com price but finally did after persistence.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 16Bad
First I was not told I had to make a $100.00 deposit before checking in. We did not stay in the hotel we booked for we stayed at the Jamaica House down the street. No place to park the building looked trashy and very old not nice at all. Maybe a one star if that. Not a good experience. people were not friendly or helpful.

when I stayed there, in March 2009, the only problem was the smell of the fresh paint in my room.

The hotel was nice, but one thing to be said is the hot tub bleached my bathing suit. It was a 3-yr old bathing suit and it never had any problems until I used the hot tub here. Just fyi.

Trip Type: Business Review 9 of 16Renovations?
Based on the statements made by Hotels.com this "resort" was updated in 2005. It should read everything was updated except the Jamacain building. It also listed as wifi being availible. Wifi is availible on everything but the Jamacain. Now they are are offering some really low off season rates. The Jamacain looks like it was built during the 1950's or 1960's as the fixtures were that old. It could pose as a third world county hotel and not have to leave the states!! With all that being said, the room was clean and NO frills. Housekeeping took care of the room and everything functioned as it should. It was a real pain in the butt to go over to the conference center and check my email. We were right off the beach and they did have the lowest price in the area, just don't expect anything pretty at that price.

Great price through Hotels.com; The Parking was very convenient (just across the street). The elevators were always immediately available. Totally accessible beach front.

Trip Type: Business Review 11 of 16Jamacian Nightmare
"The Jamaican" building of the "resort and villas" was like a step back in time to a place from a bad movie.Peeling wallpaper, old furniture, polyester bedspreads, wall safe without lock hardware, paper thin walls, cheap plastic balcony chairs, electrical outlets to wide to hold plugs, insecure door locks. On a positive note, there was a functioning relatively new color tv with remote control. This was my first experience with hotels.com and it was very disappointing.Had our arrival been earlier in the evening would not have stayed, checked out after the first night. The room descriptions & pictures should reflect the array of rooms available as the check in building was of a much higher caliber.

Trip Type: Business Review 12 of 16Crazy check out morning
The stay here was great until the morning thatI was to check out. First the phone rings out 8:30 a.m. (I am not an early riser) asking if I am checking out today, then housekeeping is knocking on the door at 9:30 a.m. asking if I am checking out today even though I had a do not distrub sign on the door. Then while I go across the street to get my vehicle to load up my lugguge at 10:45 a.m. I come back to find housekeeping coming out the room asking if I am checking out. What is that about? Will never stay there again, check out is at 11 a.m. so why are you asking me about checking as if I am there beyond the check out time.

Outstanding hotel. You get your money's worth and more. All furniture, TVs, and appliances were new.

Not a bad room for the money. I was a bit off-put by the fact that the room itself opens to an exterior hallway, motel-style. As a woman staying alone, I certainly propped a chair underneath the door handle at night. They were currently updating their elevator service - only one was in working order. I also had a non-smoking room, but they apparently allow smoking on the balcony. I assume smokers use it with the balcony door open, leading to a very stale odor in the room itself, and the odor of cigarettes on the balcony, where there was a large ashtray (how often do they empty it?).
