Terribly Inconvenient

The location was the only convenient thing about this hotel. It seemed to be rigged to make you pay for extras. The television reception was so bad that it was almost necessary to pay for the pay-per-view movie in order to watch it. The in-room internet advertised as an ammenity did not work and the only help the reception gave me was to suggest I use the business center for 3 pounds per 15 minutes. The vending machine did not work, and the only option was to spend double the price for half the size if a soda was desired. These are a few of the problems that I encountered. I was not happy with the response of the staff to these issues either.

Just ok, only for airport

Everything was OK with hotel except the beds were awful. Springs and buttons poking did not make it very comfortable. Only stayed for location near airport. Shuttle was nice and food was decent too.

ok for an overnight stay near the airport

hotel was ok. it served its purpose. i thought the halls smelled weird, but then i got used to it. nothing terrible...the staff was nice and a shuttle runs regularly to take you to the airport. can't imagine staying here if you don't need to be right near the airport

worse hotel

The carpet are very dirty and delapilated so is the bed (room 144) This hotel should not be rated higher than 2. Food in the restaurant are not fresh,they serve us a shrimp that is not fit for human consumption. remove this hotel from your list. It damage the reputation of hotel.com in listing this as 4star.

Needs improvement

It was a nice hotel but the reason for the lower rating was due to there still being a smell of smoke in the rooms. I don't know if they are still allowed to smoke in the rooms or if it is just recent that that was changed but my room smelt of ciggy smoke and i am not a fan. The A/C was not very good either.

Close to Gatwick, very clean, very convenient. We will stay their again!

Positives and Negatives

Service friendly, check in & check out efficient. Good price for London area. Should have free wi-fi. Should provide free shuttle service to and from the airport. Main criticism is that the property is a little rundown or beat up. Without needing a complete renovation, it shows its age too much and should get a 'paint up, fix up' job. It's a 3 star, not a 4 star as advertised.
