Great Place

It's simple but clean & tidy with very friendly and helpful staff, so this place is great value for money.

Good room for the money

The Owens' motel was an overall good experience. The room itself was smaller and lacked a few comforts/items you might expect from other hotels (every room does have a microwave and fridge, however, which is nice), but it was cozy and maintained in fairly good condition. On the very good side, the location and price are top notch for the OBX area, and the hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

Good Place

The rooms are old but clean and the staff is nice. The restaurant is very good and I would recommend it for a nice meal.

Served its purpose

The sheets were clean, no dust, clean fridge, tv worked, had hot water, and most important - the air conditioning worked! Could use a little Super Odor Killer with Oust spray, but got used to it. Small bathroom with no outlet. We were only there to take a shower and sleep - are you kidding? Also - it was realitively last minute and I was able to get a room when we needed one for a very good price - considering we were in Nags Head!!! The receptionist was very pleasant and suggested locations for breakfast. She was spot on suggesting Dunes Restaurant! Could use a little Super Odor Killer with Oust spray, but got used to it.

Great room for the money

The first morning that we were there, the shower was broken. We left a note and when we returned that evening it was fixed. The service was great and very friendly. I never had to ask for more towels or cloths, we always had enough. This surprised me because when we stayed at other hotels, I usually had to ask for more. It was a quiet hotel which made the stay more enjoyable.

Great Stay!

Stayed the week of Labor Day - Was a little apprehensive about booking a "motel", but for the price (ocean front) - the room was small, but had everything you could possibly need, and you couldnt get closer to the beach if you tried! We were able to check-in early, and check-out late with no extra charge. The staff was VERY friendly! I will say the bathrooms exceeded my expectations... very nice (have been updated recently). Overall, had a great time, and we absolutely recommend this motel to anyone!

Pleasantly surprised

I had read some reviews before booking my one night stay at this hotel. I wasn't sure what to expect because it was two stars and some people did not rate it very highly. But the price was right and I just needed a place to sleep. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised on how nice it was. First, the manager that greeted me at the desk was really nice. The room was very clean (I checked EVERYWHERE). The air conditioning worked perfectly. There was even a small refrigerator which was great to keep some sodas/waters cold for the next day. The only thing that wasn't great was that our toilet broke. Unfortunately, it happened after hours. We could have called the manager but decided not to. The next morning, we had to call him though. He was so nice (even after being woken up). Until it could be fixed, he gave us a key to a room not being used so that we could at least use the bathroom. Also, the location of the hotel was convenient to the beach and restaurants. Check out the Dunes Restaurant (you could walk to it)--great breakfast!! I will stay at the Owens' Motel again.

good for the money

my husband and I spent 4 nights at the motel and we enjoyed our stay. The room was small but cozy and clean, it has aconvenient location right on the beach with an outlet mall and restaurants walking distance. we knew there was no breakfast included, so we brought our own coffee maker, tea and cookies.We reccomend this hotel,but don't expect a 5 stars hotel which would be 3 times more expensive. This is great for the money.
