A Hostel is Better. Not even worth $20 usd!

I was excited that this hotel was really close to Universal Studios and had a shuttle service to the park. Then I checked in. It was as if I was in a time warp from the 1970's. The staff was rude, the lobby (if you can call it that) smelled horrible. The shuttle service to the park leaves only once a day. You could actually walk to the park though! The room was horrific, worse than any "hostel" I have ever been in! Carpet stains, rusty fixtures, broken A/C, toilet running, shower weak, nasty smelling sheets (we actually purchased new sheets at a store and used those), door locks unsecure, thank god we were only there for one night! This should be taken off Hotels.com! Stay Away! But hire the guy who took the photos, he obviously works magic.

Was horrible

One reason I picked was because of free good breakfast and I-Drive. Big mistake because a much better and quality breakfast can be obtained for $3.99 just outside. There are plenty of hotels on I-Drive which are all better than this one. The hotel staff extremely rude. The flush works poorly and the room stinks. I have been in different hotels I never realized that a hotel this bad can ever exists. There were other bad reviews for this hotel and I thought they were too harsh and reality may be different but being there I realized that those reviews were infact milder than reality.

Great Breakfast

One of the best free breakfast I have come across. Plenty of food for everybody. Such a great variety.

Resort Fee

The Howard Johnson Inn International will charge you a resort fee for each night you stay which is not included in the hotels.com price. Electric outlets did not work. Rooms are very small. For $5 more we stayed at a Hilton the next night which was much, much nicer. Their are so many hotels in the area...keep looking

Great room for the money

For the price the hotel was good and the location was great. I would stay there again.

OK for the money

Loved that we were close to Universal (the reason for our visit), but room was a bit rundown. The bed was comfortable & clean, but the carpeting appeared old & dirty/worn. Our room was also right near the pool, so at night we were able to sit there and enjoy the evening. The room safe didn't work(no batteries); when we called front desk, they said they would send maintenance to fix, but never showed. Otherwise, a decent place for a 2 night stay for the price paid.

"Needs Improvement"

Hotel needs to improve the cleanliness of the carpet and shower area. Overall, it was a descent hotel for the price I paid.

i paid what?!

the internet service did not work, our toilet broke down, our shower/bath never turned off. the only positive was its location

Room service walked in on us.

There was mold on the ceiling above the door. The floor under the dest was wet and soaked through a paper shopping bag so I couldn't use this bag as a carry on for my flight. Room service knocked on the door like the police and by the time I woke my husband to see who it was she had used her key to open the door. She wanted to know if we had a remote control in our room. HOW RUDE!!!!!!! Front desk was nice however, and so was the night security guard.
