Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 106Nice place you've got here!
*room was clean. *bed was large (King) & comfortable, with a variety of pillow sizes & firmness'. *tub was over-sized & with plenty of hot water to fill it! bathroom could've been better engineered to more effectively utilize the small space. minor things such as: only 1 light switch controlled all 3 areas (toilet, shower, vanity) - only all On or all Off at the same time. No towel ring/rack/hook in the vanity area. No fan. these, however, were only slight inconveniences. *9th floor facing Post rd - experienced very little street noise. only time other guests were heard was if they spoke in the hall directly outside our door. *staff was helpful without being intrusive. *provided robes were a nice touch! located in the heart of Japantown, neighborhood was pleasant with plenty of food & shopping within walking distance.

Trip Type: Romance Review 3 of 106Fun Hotel in Japantown
I found a great deal on this hotel, so booked a room and was very pleased with the quality of the room for the price paid. I like the location in Japantown -- i like sushi, and so there are at least 20 sushi places in a block or two walk. This is a fun place if you do not have to be in downtown San Francisco. I would stay here again...

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 106little surprises
Overall, this hotel was the quality I would expect from the description and price, but what I really liked were the small surprises such as: ipod docking alarm clock adjustable bed bath salts for the deep soaking tub

Trip Type: Romance Review 9 of 106Outstanding and Unique Hotel
We only stayed one night but this was a great end to our honeymoon. The staff was extremely helpful and nice. The room was very cool with the feel of a Japanese hotel room. Highly recommended!

Trip Type: Romance Review 12 of 106Great hotel in a quaint neighborhood
I stayed in a Kabuki Corner King room for 4 nights and the view was breathtaking and the room was spacious. Everything at this hotel was perfect except for the following: thin walls/creaking noises in walls and this ridiculous check-in policy that you need to provide a credit card when checking in, which is normal and fine, but since I don't use credit cards, I was hoping I could just use my debit card but was informed that they would be charging my bank account 50 bucks per night for "incidentals" and would not refund the money until 2+ weeks after I checked out. Not wanting to deal with that hassle, I had to arrange to use my mother's card, which was another ordeal as she had to find a fax machine at 6pm on a Sunday and fax over a signed form with her credit card information on it. I was also disappointed that they couldn't bend the rules just a bit and wait for my boyfriend to arrive later that night to provide his credit card so that I could at least go up to my room and get cleaned up and rest after a long trip to the city...so instead, I had to hang out with my multitudes of baggage in the lobby for an hour or so while I sorted out the credit dilemma. When I finally did get to the room, however, it was beautiful and exactly what I was expecting. The bathroom was pretty large as well. The cleaning staff were very friendly. So, in short, if you have a credit card and you don't mind thin walls, I can see no other reason why you should not enjoy your stay here.

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 106Good for the price
The highly touted Japanese bath is grossly overrated. It's nothing more than an deep but small tub. It's not as though it's an elegant or romantic Jacuzzi for two. The room was clean and pleasant and a good value for the Hotels.com price. The neighborhood was not great.

Trip Type: Romance Review 14 of 106very nice
This hotel is great. The staff is friendly. The neighborhood is nice and a 20 minute walk from quite a few great locations: haight and ashbury, golden gate park, the painted ladies, and union square to name a few. It's also right smack dab in japantown, with 2 japanese malls a seconds walk outside. The bed was very comfortable, although the sleep number thing was hard to control. the room was nice and quiet. the window were huge and covered in rice paper to allow ventilation and light; you could also block out everything with drapes. the tub with the whirlpool jets was amazing and definitely worth the little bit of extra money. it is big enough for 2 people. parking is only 16 dollars a night at an adjascent parking garage, very reasonable. I would reccomend hotel kabuki and stay here again.
