Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 51A Good Holiday
Our July 4th weekend turned out to be a great surprise due to our stay at the Riverside. As others have said , the tower rooms with the balconies are the best. The pool area is small and separate from the hotel itself but cozy. The lounge has happy hour every week day The restaurants within walking distance are good and convenient. They charge for parking which we didn't know. Use the concierge. He was a very useful and friendly

Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 51great room and amenities
This hotel was in the heart of everything we wanted to do. Went for a romantic getaway. Location was ideal. Lots of shops, restaurants, clubs and the performing arts center. Even though it rained alot, we had PLENTY to see and do. The hotel offers a "High Tea" which was a nice surprise and worth doing. We joined in on the night we had theatre tix. Just enough to hold us until a late supper. Well done!

Get the new tower and the photos do nothing for how upscale this place really is. All service personel were outstanding..

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 51Nice Location but a Little Rundown
This hotel is nice for older people or families. The location can't be beat but some of the rooms (especially in the "old" wing) need a bit of work.

This is a great hotel, located on Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale. Excellent hotel, stayed in the tower with balcony. Staff was very friendly and helpful. THere are dozens of restaurants and shops right outside your door, and even more within walking distance.

Trip Type: Romance Review 11 of 51Terrible Service
I live locally and needed a hotel for night. The hotel which is in the best location by the way is under construction but that is not the problem. It took 15 minutes to valet the car. The check in person was clueless. The service was horrible. The A/C is old school and does not work well Old Historic Hotel. No modern convience but more importantly horrible service

Trip Type: Romance Review 12 of 51Great Overall Experience
I chose to stay at the Riverside vs. beach area hotels because of a preference for experiencing neighborhoods with vibrant retail and restaurant districts. Las Olas was a decent neighborhood, but not as impressive as we had hoped. The Riverside Hotel, however, did exceed expectations. We stayed in the original portion of the hotel because we prefer historic buildings vs. more sterile modern hotels. I was a little hesitant when making the reservation because of some negative reviews on the old hotel, but figured we could hopefully upgrade at check-in if we had issues with the old hotel. The room we were given was a corner unit on the top floor facing Las Olas. The room was small, but charming with an antique dresser and desk which added character. Noise was not an issue at all. Hotel staff were fabulous - front desk, restaurant, and housekeeping - all top notch. At checkin, the receptionist even gave us free breakfast vouchers - I'm thinking because I had mentioned we were wrapping up an anniversary vacation. I wasn't angling for any special treatment, but they took the extra touches that make a difference in your overall experience.

Great service. Nice location. Shops are fun and riverwalk is nice. Restaurant across the street, Johnnie V, was excellent.
