Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 209Hard to Beat
The Salisbury offers a great value in a great location. Additionally, reduced rate parking nearby, efficient and polite check-in, large and attractive rooms (we were given a suite), comfortable beds, flat-screen TV's, and a wonderful buffet breakfast for an additional $6.00 per person.

Trip Type: Family Review 3 of 209Great place to stay.
With all of the choices for a hotel room, we made the right one with The Salisbury. It was close or a short walk to many attractions-Central Park,Time Square and Rockefeller Center. The rooms were neat and spacious. The staff friendly and helpful. I look forward to another stay there.

We saw a special price advertised thru hotels.com and decided to investigate. All looked good, so we booked it for two nights. Arrived and asked if there was an upgrade available as we had the family with us. We were given an upgrade into a very large room. The big room reminded me of an apartment more than a hotel. There's nothing overly fancy in the room, but the size and service made up for it. And the location. It's two blocks (about 1/3 mile) South of Central Park and centrally located. We walked to Times Square and the Museum of Modern Art, and caught subways everywhere else (there's a subway located about 300 feet to the left on 6th Ave. and another about 300 feet to the right on 7th Ave.) The front desk helped with directions, and the doorman/bellhop was helpful and very pleasant. They also allowed us an extra hour for checkout, as our flight was later in the day. This overall experience convinced me to stay at the Salisbury each time I return to New York.

Trip Type: Family Review 8 of 209old NYC in great location
This has it all (for us) - old NYC charm, care, cleanliness, & spaciousness without the glitz of a Hilton, etc. It was simple and perfect, including location.

Trip Type: Family Review 9 of 209Great for the Money
The Salisbury Hotel is so-o-o centrally located. On the left when you walk out the hotel are two reasonable restaurants. On the right one block down is a supermarket and their are two subways at the end of the block. Drugstore one block; Central Park two blocks -- you can see it from the corner. I highly recommend the breakfast -- much better than I anticipated -- well tended and good assortment. The help at the front desk was very helpful. I definitely know where I will be staying if I ever get back to New York. Older hotel than has been updated -- spacious!!!!

Trip Type: Family Review 12 of 209Great older hotel
Friendly staff, great location, clean hotel. it's a little older but that means the rooms are a little larger than in newer hotels.

Trip Type: Family Review 13 of 209No-frills hotel
Our room was nice, spacious and comfortable w/couch, chairs, desk and king bed plus flat-screen TV. Bath light fixture needed to be replaced but adequate otherwise. Breakfast is available for a small charge. The main problem is next-door construction that is very noisy plus the usual NYC traffic and sirens. Take earplugs.

Trip Type: Family Review 14 of 209Best Hotel Yet
We have stayed at several other hotels on our trips to NYC, and this has been far and away the best. The room was clean and BIG by comparison, and the location was perfect for us.

Trip Type: Family Review 15 of 209Great Stay
Having travelled to NY many times, it was really nice to have such a large space for us to stretch out, compared to all the hotels previously used. Staff was friendly and helpful, we had a great time and it was largely due to staying at the Salisbury. For all of you wondering if this is a good choice - yes, it is - you won't regret it. Close to Central Park and much quieter neighborhood than down by Times Square. Easy walking distance to where you want to go and subway stations. Cabs quickly available with staff help, too. Go for it!
