Trip Type: Romance Review 1 of 56Best Deal Around
If you don't mind a no frills lobby, this hotel is the best deal around. I can't vouch for the other rooms in the hotel, but the one we stayed in was very clean and unbelievably spacious. We had two bedrooms, two baths, a small dining area and large living room. WOW, what a treat! All within walking distance to Central Park and great restaurants. All of the staff was extremely helpful and courteous as well. I will definitely stay here again during our next trip to NYC.

Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 56frumpy but convenient
I've stayed at the Salisbury on and off for more than 10 years, and most things remain the very same including the slowest elevators in the City. But it's a clean room in a great location. When it is a good price, I grab it. The 2-bedroom suites are immense.

Trip Type: Romance Review 3 of 56Not as good as it used to be
We have stayed at the Salisbury several since 1997. We have always recomended it to friends when they will be traveling to NYC. It now has a church group that uses some of the facilities so not all the people who are in the hotel are hotel occupants. The staf used to be more courteous--would ask if they could get you a cab when you left, run curbside when they saw you were getting out of a cab. Just not as nice overall as it used to be.

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 56Great experience
We celebrated a special anniversary while staying in this hotel. They were very kind providing an upgrade in recognition of our special event. There is currently heavy construction underway adjacent to the hotel which was noisy. Our room faced 57th ave. (the front of the hotel) and the street noise was high, but not beyond reasonable for a mid-town hotel in the heart of the city. We'd go back.

Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 56Fantastic Stay
We had reserved a standard room but when we arrived they upgraded us to a suite. It was far nicer than I ever expected, especially for a NYC Hotel. It was a great price for a great room. We will definately stay there again.

Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 56Love It!!!
The location was GREAT! The room was big for rooms in NYC...we have stayed in other places (they were nice too) but the rooms were tiny and they location was much farther away from the main stream of things. Highly recommend!!

Trip Type: Romance Review 8 of 56Great location
Hotel was in a great location and I was pleaantly surprised by the size of the room. The only down side was the water in the shower shifted unexpectedly from hot to cold. It was not a big enough inconvenience to sway me from coming again.... GREAT LOCATION!

Trip Type: Romance Review 9 of 56Excellent area, room and hotel.
Current construction in the area made things a bit noisy in the morning but otherwise the Salsibury is a fine hotel and well situated. The rooms and overall area are especially large for NY. The refrigerator is a nice feature.

Trip Type: Romance Review 12 of 56Great room for the money!
booked this hotel based on the previous reviews. was just looking for a place to crash for one evening. was expecting a very small room, considering New York City real estate, but it was surprisingly big!...especially for the price we paid. bathrooms were clean (looked like it was recently renovated). flat panel TV worked great! front desk was very nice and helpful. central park is about 2-3 blocks away. the 4 and 5 trains were about 2-3 blocks away, (59th and Lex.)
