Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 106Great Location and Price, but So Smelly
The Salisbury Hotel was a great location - walking distance to shops, attractions, Central Park. The staff were nice and helpful. Drawbacks - room very musty, smelled like smoke, even though there was a nonsmoking sign. The closet smelled terrible. Elevator did not work for a bit, which meant walking down more than ten flights. Overall, mixed review, but given how expensive hotels are in NY, this was a good deal, I guess.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 106Outstanding, older hotel
This is the second time in the past year I have stayed at the Salisbury Hotel through Hotels.com. Both times I have thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a very comfortable hotel that while a tad "worn" in places, is nonetheless EXTREMELY comfortable, clean, nicely staffed and situated in a vibrant neighborhood. Each time, I was upgraded to a large, well-equipped suite, an amazing value for the price. The only drawback is that rooms on the street side are noisy.....but earplugs can help that. I always look for this hotel on Hotel.com's website when booking a room, and am disappointed when it is not available for the dates I travel.

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 106Well Kept Secert
The Salisbury Hotel experiance was great. I was unsure of what I was getting when I booked it,since the price was so great. I did not expect a very "great" hotel. But is an outstanding Hotel. I was given a choice of room location..noesy Street or quiet back..I took quiet. Room much large than expected, for a 2 double room. Large closet, Kitenet area with fridge, mircowave and coffepot. Bathroom very satisfactory. Bedroom had 2 double beds,2 easy chairs, a desk and chair, and a large dresser. It was located within easy walking distance to many attractions and transprtation : subway, buses, and cabs. I felt very safe at night walking around the neighborhood. I will definatly stay their again and recommend it to friends

My Stay at The Salsbury Hotel was Terrible. From the 70's bathroom to the bed that was hard as a rock to the poor customer service. i would never stay at this place again.

Trip Type: Business Review 12 of 106Value and Location are Good
Great location, convenient to my needs. Courteous/responsive staff. I like the smallness of the lobby area. Rooms have been upgraded, comfortable beds, love the mini kitchens/coffee pots in most of the rooms. Paint is a little thick and chipped on the trim work which gives it a bit of a "tacky" feel, but rooms are clean.

Trip Type: Business Review 13 of 106Nice
Hotel was clean, nice and very comfortable. Only nuisance was the construction nearby, woke us up at 6am. Didn't get to try the continental breakfast but will do so next time.

Trip Type: Business Review 14 of 106Great location/value
- Great location (2 blocks from central park, short walk to Times Sq & Rockefeller Ctr). - Room size was great for NYC. Even the closet was huge. - Shower handles took a bit to get used to. - Elevators were very busy Sun. (around check out). Difficult to get one that was not full. Had to either wait a long time, or take the stairs. - Continental breakfast was very reasonable for NYC ($4 per person). - I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone.
