Imperial Palace Hotel & Casino

Good location

If you drive to this hotel, a first time guest will need a GPS unit to get from the parking garage to the checkin desk. What a pain!! The checkin line can be very very long! A gruesome process. The good is that for the money spent, you cannot beat the location. And now that I know the layout of the hotel we would stay here again.

needs updating

room was clean and maid service was good. however, this building needs significant upgrades and building improvements. slowest elevators ever. would not stay here again for that alone.

Great for the price

The location is great, within short walking distance of the center strip hotels. One thing to note is that there's an outdoor dance club on the ground floor between the Imperial Palace and Harrah's that goes until at least 3 a.m.. Even on the 17th floor, with the door closed, it was very loud. To the hotel's credit they told me that the strip facing room was noisy, but didn't clarify that it was because of the club.

I am surprised that Hotels.com reviewed this as 4 STARS. I got cheated by this rating. Please do not go. Hotel is pretty old and room service does not respond. Lot many problems.

For the price you pay, you can't complain.

The hotel was clean and the staff friendly and helpful. I had read that the elevators were slow, but we had no problem and only waited a few minutes for it to arrive. I would expect the same wait in any building with more than 4 floors. We were all very satisfied.

Not a good experience

It's a huge and ill-maintained hotel. There are no appropriate directions from the Parking Lot to the Lobby or elevators, the layout is super-confusing, security is very very low, and maintenance is probably at an all-time pathetic low. At the same price you can stay at Harrah's right next to it which is a much better experience .. $20 extra and you can get a 5-star.. overall not worth spending the money they charged per night.. needs improvement in maintenance, friendliness of staff, directions at the lobby level, food quality, directions on floor level from elevators to rooms, and better access between parking lot and the hotel.. also not directly facing the strip at the Lobby is a minus point

Just need to clean up

Everything was okay, especially the buffet; except the cleanliness in general and the casino floor being too smokey.
