Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 49Rude Valet
Needs improvement! Valet parking was very rude when they made a mistake, took forwver. Not impressed witht eh baggage service-- and how long it woudl take to request something like a pillow case w/o blood on it. My room was located w/ crappy view, and the light to illuminate the bldg was hard to block out. The bathtub was cracked. The lobby was beautiful, but didn't maintiant he feel in the rooms.

This hotel has seen better days. The remodel has aged poorly. Staff ranges from great to fair. The whole place feels in shoddy shape.

Trip Type: Business Review 4 of 49Lobby takeover
This hotel was great both times I stayed there before. Now it has new management and it has really gone down. The desk staff are the least professionally trained that I have seen in thirty years of international travel. They were also quite ignorant and inefficient. The halls are dark and dingy and the room lighting was awful. The bathroom had not ledge around the sink to put toiletries. The decor was ugly and uncomfortable. The worst insult was when I came down to go to dinner and was told I could not go through the front entrance because they had the lobby closed off for a private screening party. I was told I had to go out the back entrance in the parking lot, which meant I had to walk a half block around the hotel to get to Hollywood Blvd, the front of the hotel, which is where I was meeting my friends. I could not enter the building through the front entrance upon return and had to walk a half block down the side street and go through the parking lot even though I was on foot. It surely was a fire hazard and I should have called the Fire Dept. This was exasperating and frustrating and talking to the security guards about it was even more insulting. This is no way to do business and I will never go back. The restaurant Dakota's was excellent as was their staff. They were very professional. The staff at the Roosevelt is poorly trained and made several errors on the bill which took forever to correct. It took 45 minutes to get our cars out of the valet. Very poor management and they have destroyed what was a charming hotel.

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 49Hipster hotel
I stayed at the Hollywood Roosevelt only because I was attending a conference that was being held there. The hotel is very noisy. When I checked in, there was a very loud party in the pool area, and the music traveled up to my room on the 7th floor. The room was fairly spacious, but the bed was too soft and somewhat uncomfortable. I had several issues which required either engineering or housekeeping. For one, the television reception had a lot of interference, which they couldn't fix. Then I had problems with the internet connection, and ended up logging on to their service twice, causing me to be charged twice. (This was fixed upon checkout.) I also had to request a rubber mat for the bathtub/shower, since it was very slippery and there is nothing whatsoever to hold onto. This took two trips by housekeeping, since they didn't understand what I was asking for. Lastly, the charges for the mini-bar and room service were ridiculous. This is the only hotel I have ever stayed at that charges for the in-room coffee packs that you make yourself ($3.50!)Overall, I give this hotel 2 and 1/2 stars out of 5. I will only stay there again if I have to.

Trip Type: Business Review 7 of 49Beware Loud Nightclub and Thin Walls
I read the reviews of this hotel before booking and no one mentioned that the hotel hosts a very hip, but very LOUD nightclub. The age of the hotel means that there is little sound proofing. I stayed on the 4th floor and could not sleep until the club closed... around 2:30 AM. The hotel's location is central to Hollywood Blvd. activities. The ambience of the hotel is very chic, with a "young Hollywood" vibe. The room was smallish, with a very comfortable bed, functional desk, and tiny bathroom. The staff was efficient and friendly. When I complained to the manager about the noise in the morning she was professional, sympathetic and resolved my issues immediately by contacting hotels.com on my behalf without any hassle. Bottom line- unless you are going to be AT the club until it closes, or are not bothered by excessive noise, think twice.

This is a "the" classic Hollywood hotel and I've been there many times before and will continue to stay there for the years to come.

Trip Type: Business Review 10 of 49Nice and chic hotel
Overall the hotel room was what I expected. Nice styling, but no extra frills. Comfortable bed too. The CD player in the room did not work, but I did not call to have it replaced. When I called the front desk to set up a wake-up call, the phone rang at least 15 times and no answer. I called back a few minutes later and got someone. Small room, but you pay for the look here.

Trip Type: Business Review 11 of 49I liked it...
The pool was amazing. If you want to experience the "L.A. lifestyle" while on vacation, this is the place to stay! The concierge was very helpful when I needed help finding a good restaurant and finding transportation. The location of this hotel is perfect, as well. I'd definitely stay at the Roosevelt Hotel again on a future trip to Los Angeles.

Trip Type: Business Review 13 of 49Cool Hollywood Hotel
This place is a classic old-school Hollywood hotel. Great location for touristy stuff. However, the area is quite noisy. No issues with safety at night. You can walk all over the place, including over to Sunset with no issues. The lobby and restaurants are very cool. Good food at 25 Degrees restaurant. The pool are becomes a bar at night, but you can get in as a hotel guest. The pool area is great...probably packed on the weekends, but not too bad during the week. I have always wanted to stay here and would do it again just for the pool area.
