Trip Type: Family Review 2 of 17Do Not book this hotel
This hotel was terrible. The room had broken drywall, old dirty carpet. screaming and hollering was heard all evening, police visited the hotel. Kids were hanging out in front blocking entrance at times. Pool was padlocked during the day. People hanging around in lobby were cursing and acting inapropriately. The last morning, before we left, there was a blood trail from the elevator to the front walk...who knows what happened. The desk clerk was not cleaning it up and allowing the poor behavior in the lobby. The room was well cooled and the maid did a great job with what she had to work with. I know the hotel is not in the best part of town but the Mgr should have more control of people hanging around. If they were the employees they should be fired.

Some rooms are rented by the hour or month, depending on the floor. Guests are questionable. The lobbby was full of street people at night. No towels were available. The ice bucket had a knife hole in the bottom. The bathroom wall had a hole in it. It was an educational experience that I would not repeat.

Trip Type: Family Review 5 of 17Disgusting, even for the amount we paid.
When we first got there, the lobby was full of loud trashy people, and an older woman who appeared to be dead. The front desk people were decent enough, but not overly helpful. The parking garage was dank, dirty and wet. The access to each upper level was so narrow that we were almost in two accidents within five minutes of arriving. When we got to our first room, the key didnt work, so I had to go downstairs to the lobby twice, and send my husband once before they moved us into another room. The hallways were sweltering. The whole hotel was crawling with "undesirables." When we got into our second room, it was sparsely furnished. The carpet was soaked near the air conditioner. The bathroom was FILTHY. Cobwebs and unknown gunk on the floor. I was afraid to walk barefoot. Linens on the bed had cigarette holes. Room was dimly lit and had an odd smell.

It was good considering the price. The elevator was always filled with interesting characters. Generally it was pretty quiet at night, but we were staying on the top floor away from other guests.

Trip Type: Family Review 7 of 17Bad neighborhood/bad hotel
Let's just say there was a memorial wreath hanging on the parking garage fence. Then there were two drug deals made in the time it took us to check in. I wouldn't stay here if I were a cockroach. I wish I had done more research so I wouldn't have had to get a refund on this one. I am honestly not exaggerating about the conditions of the hotel. It needs tremendous work.

I read the reviews and decided to spend the night. I had my children with me. The hotel was okay, there were a lot of students there on spring break. I did not feel scared or bothered by anyone. The front desk staff was very nice, but housekeeping was fairly rude. I enjoyed my stay and will stay there again when I go to New Orleans.

Trip Type: Family Review 9 of 17Better than expected and for the price paid, it was WELL worth it!
I read all of the reviews prior to deciding if it was SAFE enough for my girlfriend and I to stay. We stayed and could have actually stayed longer and saved a lot of money. You will hear people gripe that you'll hear sirens...well, you will! Guess what it's N'Awlins! I love it there. Additionally, it's on Canal which is a MAJOR street. You'll hear sirens 3 blocks away on the 15th floor for $200 per night as well. I know, we were there! There is an EMERGENCY ROOM within a couple of blocks! Hello! Additionally, if you stay during Mardi Gras as I have for 15 of them, you'll hear sirens everywhere you are and some have nothing to do w/ a problem. They are used to move the floats around etc. For the price we paid it was a DEAL. The staff was BEYOND friendly!

The hotel is going through remodeling and this is why the rates was so good when I booked. As far as location, it is easy to find, has covered parking and is fairly close to the party area of town. So the bottom line is that it is a great value if you don't mind a very low caliber room and minimal service.

Trip Type: Family Review 12 of 17Use As a Very Basic Necessity Only
It wasn't all bad... The lobby was pretty... The rooms were decent... Not the cleanest, but for the price, it didn't matter... Unlike other reviews, the A/C works just FINE. :) That was a good thing! It was a bit sad still watching the devastating results of Hurricane Katrina right outside the hotel, as tents were set up w/the homeless... :( The garage was a little creepy, but parking was free (lots of hotels do NOT offer this, it can add up!). Overall, we paid an EXCELLENT price for an average room. We're the types to be out all day/night, we just needed the rooms to store our luggage and sleep. It was just fine for that. Next time, however, I'd like to be in a more central location (maybe in the French Quarter).

They claim they had continential breakfast but they didn't. The elevator broke the 2nd day we were there. The air conditioner leaked on the carpet in the room so it smelled like mold & mildew and last it was 88 degrees and the hotel had no water in the pool.
