Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 51cheap place near bourbon street
A cheap place with adequate bed and A/C close to Bourbon Street. Recommended for the young and active. Covered parking is free.

Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 51Don't Stay Here!!!
This was little more than a likely low class weekly rental slop house. The pics were misleading and I was very dissappointed and will never stay here again.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 51This would be an ideal place to stay if you are not Wanting to see the city!
The morning staff was great, the evening staff needs more training. There was a mix up in my room, they gave my room to some one else and I was in it!! Thank God I had the bar across the door!!

Trip Type: Business Review 4 of 51A place to stay...
The service was pretty good. Had a couple problems with our rooms(shower drains), and they were quickly fixed. "Continental Breakfast", however, was just coffee and doughnuts, so plan to go somewhere for breakfast. Hotel was in a great location, but somewhat bad area. If you stay here, don't expect too much. Hotel is getting better with improvements, but still has a lot of work to go. Also, if you stay here, be sure to plan your activities around certain times. Make sure you stay in a group, get back to the hotel somewhat early for the night, and stay there until morning. Great for a place to stay if your only there for a night or two. Not a family hotel, or one to bring your wife or girlfriend to.

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 51Needs "Exteme" Improvement
Lobby was full of borderline derelict looking people. Room stunk, A/C was leaking on carpet. Bathroom had mold, tub was missing parts, rust on windows, ceiling tiles stained and or wet with moisture, blankets had burn hole on them. Overall a terrible looking room -

Everything was good but need to note that parking is extra and is not included in room price $6.00 per day.

If your on a budget this is the place for being close to downtown, Please remember you have to pay to park at any motel in town this was the cheapest place $6.00 a night/day and is non refundable.

Trip Type: Business Review 10 of 51Flea Bag
Being this low of a price i should have realized it was not going to be great but..... it was still a bad place. Dirty walls and floors, sleazy people hanging around, Graffiti on the hallways, etc. you get what you pay for, but this is not worth it. i left after 2 minutes.

Trip Type: Business Review 11 of 51Not for kids
This is for sleeping and having a place to put your bags only. There are 'resident' guest here either from a halfway house set up or something similar. Okay for adults who can grin and bear it but not a place for kids who need to have activities.

I was not satisfied with the room because the bathroom didn't work. It continued to make loud noises and the water wasn't hot. The floor was badly stained and you could see through the blinds of the windows. Thanks

Trip Type: Business Review 14 of 51Simple and Downtown
Even arriving at 3:00am from Nashville, the Canal St. Hotel was exactly what I was looking for: safe, downtown, and cheap. It's hard to beat the price and the staff is very helpful and courteous.

Many of the guests in the hotel were actually residents. It was either a halfway house or an evacuee situation. Not a place to take kids. This hotel is simply for getting some sleep and getting out.
