The room was mediocre. It was very noisy. You could hear the neighbors when they arrived back in their rooms. It sounded like they walked in my room.

I have been staying at at The Ambassador Hotel for years. I just found out that the hotel has new owners which means that a few things have changed. First of all, the price has nearly doubled and the fees have grown without any change being done to any of the rooms in the hotel. It was worth the stay for the price it used to be, but now I am considering other hotels in New Orleans for my next trip. Secondly, on a good note, the restaurant, US Prime was fantastic! It made my stay at the hotel seem worth while.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 3 of 208Nice Hotel
The room was beautiful! I really enjoyed how it wasn't a cookie cutter hotel room. It was close to the water front. Easy walking to anything. I didn't like how we were charged for phone used/internet when we didnt even use the phone or internet...but it's apparently a required charged that was not mentioned

Trip Type: With Friends Review 5 of 208Good for the money
The location of the hotel is great in relation to other areas. It's a brief cab ride to bourbon st. the hotel is old and beaten up tho. The shower was broken and the place needs renovation.

This hotel has to be the most ghetto run place I've ever stayed. I'll stick to the Roosevelt and crowne plaza on canal.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 7 of 208Great Character
I was looking for a place to stay for one night and The Ambassador was perfect. It is small but quaint and although not luxurious, it served the purpose. The restaurant/bar downstairs was delicious. The whole experience was of a nice neighborhood Inn as opposed to Hotel. I liked it.

Hotel staff should act more professional. Hotel has hidden fees at check out that were not mentioned when I checked in. The rooms were disorganized.

we had an issue with our alarm clock being broken and maintenance was up within 10 minutes to look at it. while there, he noticed that it was warm in the room and also fixed the AC without us even asking. very prompt and impressive.

It is a very quaint hotel however a little effort needed to be given to the cleanliness of the room. Housekeeping needs an overhaul. Linens were dingy looking and the shower curtains needed to be replaced; had mildew.

The hotel is located on the other side of Canal St., but not too bad of a walk for the nightlife. The room didn't have real windows, so make sure to set alarm clock. The bathroom need to remodel. The tiles in the restroom was kind of dirty. Besides the restroom the room was great for its room.
