charming hotel

not much to look at on the outside but it was very charming on the inside,...the staff was friendly and our room was beautiful. Loved it!

Parking?

Dirty towel in the room, and trash on the floor. Supposedly had free valet parking but lot was "full" so had to pay $28 across the street. Plus $7.50 "convenience charge". Much better places to stay around New Orleans.

It's always a problem getting the free parking promised for the Ambassador Hotel--It's always an issue--didn't get again last stay!!!

Wonderful Staff

The staff at the hotel was fabulous, from the concierge to the maid, across the board they were helpful, cheerful and willing to assist with any problem. They made the stay as enjoyable as it possibly could.

Great Service

The service was very very good, arrived on Monday night in the middle of a NFL Monday night game in New Orleans, and the staff couldn't have been nicer... even with all of the craziness going on. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Not what I was expecting

After reading the reviews, I expected this hotel to be a small gem in the CBD. But the hotel was dirty, shabby, and overall under-whelming. Blah.

Great Room for the money.

"Needs Improvement"

We have stayed at this hotel several times in the last year and it has gradually gone down... Love the 'New Orleans' feel of this hotel, yet it needs to be improved and cleaned. Sorry, won't being staying here anymore.

Great Room for the money

I really enjoyed my stay here. The room was wonderful and had that old world charm. The beds were too soft but it wasn't a big enough issue to taint our stay. Everyone here was so nice even the bellman who bless him was having some sort of allergy problems. I was proud to say I was a New Orleanian!

GREAT ROOM FOR MONEY

I ENJOYED MY STAY THE HOTEL STAFF EVEN LET MY CAR STAY IN THE VALET PARKING UNTIL AFTER THE GAME WHITCH WAS A GREAT HELP BECAUSE I DIDNT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT EXTRA PARKING

Poor Customer Service

The hotel personnel was rude and anything you ask for, they don't have. We went out on the town one time and came back to the hotel and was advised the valet parking lot was full and there was no where else to park. But I am staying at this hotel, and there is no where to park. Their attitude there is very bad. Their towels in the room were dingy and nasty looking. The room smelled like dead rats. I would never stay at this hotel again. I would like to recommend Country Inn and Suites that is located around the corner.
