Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 170Nice Historic Hotel
I was a little iffy to book this hotel since the price was so good and location was also good. The hotel was very nice, good restaurant attached and very cute historical feel. Would definitely stay here again vs. a boring chain hotel.

Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 170Parking is a major problem
I found the hotel nice enough and located well. But they seem understaffed. The major complaint was parking. The valet was no where to be found and I had to wait 15 minutes after checking in to even find the valet and then he tells me he has no more room in the valet lot and to find a spot on the street. He said they have 160 or so rooms and only 60 parking spaces in their lot. He said it is a constant problem for them. I had to park two blocks away on the street. They advertise valet parking with unlimited in and outs, but it is not accurate, and once you find a space on the street, you better not use your car because it wont be there when you get back.

Trip Type: Business Review 4 of 170Don't go here!
Toilet not flushed and had pee and toilet paper upon my entry! The "computer table" had a broken leg that was proped under it to make it look as if it was okay. They never fixed the leg as promiced. About 1/3 of the light bulbs were either burned out or missing. The maintanance man did not bring a ladder and couldn't reach ceiling, so I had to stand on chair to change bulbs when they brought them. Floor was dirty and uneven. Safe had a "low battery" rendering it useless and they were unable to replace the batteries. Required to pay for daily "wireless" Internet and "insurance", yet they told me they do not have wireless and gave me a short cord to connect. Maid did not empty trash many days and never "freshened" room. When I complined the 1st day, they did not appologize, and only stated that the room was not in a good state because it was the night after Halloween. Many other problems too numerous to document.

The room was not cleaned properly, floor dusty. Staff not friendly, borderline rude. There's this antique French ambiance to the place. But it could be far better.

Obvious shortcomings included malfunctioning drain plug in the bathroom sink and malfunctioning outlet plug for the coffee maker. The warping of the floor boards may be considered historic ambience by some, but I'm sure none would find charm in the condition where some of the nail heads were beginning to rise out of the floor, particularly if you usually like to relax in the room with shoes off.

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 170Room - needed some attention; Service - better than average
TV remote missing the battery door, but still operational. I found some painter's tape in the room, which indicates maintenance occurs, so this could be interpeted either good or bad. I considered the gaps between the slats in the wood floor as part of the charm, but I was cautious not to drop my roomkey or change! Resort fee was not hidden, but I consider it meaningless; just put it up front in the cost of the room. Really a good location for conventioneers, gamblers (Harrah's), etc. Finally, the staff was helpful and friendly which can sometimes make up for the irregularities of the room.

Trip Type: Business Review 9 of 170great room for the money!
I was in town for a convention. I was very pleased with the hotel, location, exercise room, everything. Short walking distance to lots of things and a 5 min cab ride to the French Quarter. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I am recommending The Ambassador to friends and family. I plan on returning to this hotel on future visits.

I found a cockroach in the room on the second nights. Breakfast only served coffee and muffin. No Orange juice nor coffee. Convinent location, close to Harrah's, restaurants and French quater. Very unique interior. But, needs improvement.

Trip Type: Business Review 11 of 170Dirty Room
Non-smoking room smelt like smoke. When we walked into the room, the bed was not made. There were stains all over the pillows and the comforter. The bed was pretty hard. Other than that it would have been a decent stay, but first impressions are a lot. We couldn't move rooms, so they just put an ozone cleaner in our room to get rid of the smokey smell, which frankly did nothing because the neighbor had to of been smoking.

Trip Type: Business Review 12 of 170Great deal but a little noisy
There was an outdoor band (or concert) going on directly across the street the evening that I stayed there so this attributed to most of the noise. Additionally, the air conditioner was loud and didn't work very well. However, for the price I paid, I certainly am not complaining. This would be a great place to stay if you were planning to stay out late and enjoy New Orleans but I was there on business.

I won't go there even if they give it for free!

Trip Type: Business Review 14 of 170Nice hotel, nice people, great location
I stayed at the Ambassador Hotel in the end of September 2009, and I was overall quite pleased with my room (room 373). My room was spacious, with 11 foot high ceilings, beautiful hardwood floors, and comfortable beds. The front desk people were quite nice, and the restaurant and bar attached to the hotel was also quite good. Overall, I was definitely satisfied with my stay.
