Trip Type: Family Review 2 of 22Great hotel for price and location
Everything was great; exceeded by expectations. Only complaint, the toilet rocked and ran at times. The ac could have been better. Otherwise, was excellent.

Trip Type: Family Review 4 of 22Beautiful hotel for the price
Enjoyed our stay, staff was very efficient, hotel very clean and accommodations superior for the price we paid. We left something in one of the drawers and the household staff found the item and put it into lost & found. When we called the desk took our number and promptly called back to make arrangements for us to receive the item. I've left things before and this is the first time a hotel has acknowledged and returned anything. Highly recommend staying here.

Trip Type: Family Review 5 of 22Excellent Location
My wife and I spent seven great days at the Metropolitan Hotel. During our stay we walked to every attraction in Toronto. We were able to visit all the different neighborhoods, Rogers Centre, Harbor Front, and Harbor Islands. Ground transportation from the airport is direct to the Metropolitan and runs constantly in both directions. Our tour to Niagara Falls picked us up right at the hotel and was an excellent and reasonable tour. The hotel was perfect for what we wanted to do during our stay. The hotel staff was helpful and attentive to whatever we needed. In addition to having a great stay, the hotel was also convenient to a large number of excellent restaurants. We also noticed that this hotel was used by visiting dignitaries, airline employees staying in Toronto, and beauty pageant contestants. We will look to return again next summer.

Trip Type: Family Review 7 of 22Everything great except restaurants too expensive;eat here instead!
The Metropolitan is located close to Chinatown and the Art Gallery of Ontario, and is walking distance from lots more. The room was pleasant and the staff helpful. The only complaint was the prices in the hotel restaurants. We ate in the Asian restaurant in the hotel and ended up spending over $100 for two main courses and three glasses of wine. The food was good, but not that good. A Toronto native later recommended Asian Legend, which is in just a few blocks up on Dundas (418) where we had a fantastic dinner for about thirty bucks. Try their steamed dumplings with soup inside! We never did eat breakfast at the hotel, again b/c of prices. Try Java Joe's on Dundas, in the first block after you turn left onto Dundas. It's on the opposite side of the street that you'll be on. Great coffee etc. Toronto is a great place to visit!

Trip Type: Family Review 8 of 22Fantastic Hotel...as always!
The Metropolitan is our favorite place to stay in Toronto, and it never fails us (we've stayed there 3 times, and will every time we return to Toronto). The hotel is grand and beautiful, and the staff there is beyond cordial. Rooms are always clean an fresh, and the beds and pillows are very comfy! Plus, every room we've ever had there has had a beautiful view of the city. The location is central to & just a quick walk away from practically everything: Chinatown, Eaton Centre, CN Tower, theater and fashion districts, tons of restaurants, etc. Plus, they have a really nice pool area and fitness center in the hotel. What's also nice is they offer discounts to guests for their restaurant...the breakfast buffet is VERY tasty and has lots of fresh fruit and really good food. To sum it up, The Metropolitan is an all-around great place to stay...NO COMPLAINTS from us...and we highly recommend it to everyone!

I did not expect a lot, so I was impressed with service and convenience of hotel location. It was close to major attractions.

Trip Type: Family Review 11 of 22No consistency in their rooms
We booked the luxury room for two occasions. We were happy for the first booking where they offered us a renovated room with decor that is in line with the "luxury" category. On our second booking, they offered us a room that is in need of renovation. The carpet is dirty and rundown. There is also a smell. There is nothing special in this room I am not sure why this is a "luxury". I would recommend people to stay here for its location.

Trip Type: Family Review 14 of 22Great hotel for the money
We enjoyed staying at this hotel. The price we got was reasonable. It was in a nice central location. The staff was extremely agreeable and helpful. We had to bring our dog, last minute, and lucked out because they also happen to be pet friendly. The room was a little tight, but spacious enough. I will definitely stay there again next time I go to Toronto (but without our dog).

Trip Type: Family Review 15 of 22NEEDS IMPROVEMENT
Upon arriving at the hotel the front desk clerk was not informative in telling us the pool, sauna & fitness center were under repair,we where so disappointed because we were dressed to swim and was told by one of the staff about the repairs. If they had told us we would have gone to some other hotel.Driving our truck into the garage well if you can't drive don't use there parking. The space is so tight and the side you enter is the same side for oncoming traffic. The comforter which was white had messy blood stains. The room had no internet,so to use our laptop we had to purchase for$3.95 for an hour,if not the only access is to be in the lobby with a lot noise. They had no continental breakfast so we had room service for $55.00 for two way too expensive. The line to check out was from the desk to the front door,so our wait time was over 20 minutes. So over all we would never ever recommend the Metropolitan Hotel to anyone visiting for business or pleasure.
