Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 29For the $ good room w/character
Before I describe the room, I have to give a shout out to hotels.com. We didn't get to the hotel until about 7pm Sunday night and were told that they only had double rooms available and that our request for a king was only a request. I agreed to take the double with the understanding that we'd be moved to a king the following day, but I also mentioned that I was going to call hotels.com when I got to the room to discuss. I was then told if I wanted to wait an hour, they would clean a king room for me, and one was ready in under an hour. I was very happy to have hotels.com in our corner! The room was on the 12th floor of the Claridge Tower. Some people are disappointed with this location, but I like it. It is older and not modern, but it has the essentials and I like the location. It is very easy to get to the beach (down to street level and one block up thru the Korean Wall installation). The rooms are very big in the Tower, big enough to have more furniture, but works well once you have your suitcases spread out. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with two wing chairs and round side table. There is a flat screen TV, around 34", there is an internet connection and the cabinet has a small fridge. The closet is roomy with some wooden hangers (enough to hang clothes for a weekend), and stores a ironing board & iron, a safe, and a foldable suitecase stand. The bathroom was normal sized, with a nice long counter. The down side was the sink was shell shaped and so you had to rinse things down the drain, and the tub drain was VERY slow. By the time you were done your shower is was up to your ankles, BUT the shower head was wonderful. It felt like a massage, and the water was powerful and stayed hot for a long time. There is also a heat lamp in the bathroom so you can stay warm, because the a/c can really crank out even with the sun pouring through our windows. There's a powerful Sunbeam blow dryer and a nice offering of bath products. If you are very particular about noi

Trip Type: Family Review 6 of 29Good for Family Get-Away
We got good deal on hotels.com and booked 3 rooms for family for quick get-away in March. We travelled with 5 children under age 10. We went for the pool and some sightseeing. Bally's was great. Our rooms were in older Claridge tower and I was concerned given prior reviews, but we found them clean, nicely decorated and spacious enough. Bally's has 2 pools--one is free in the Claridge tower and the other spa pool (in the Bally's tower) has minimal per-room charge. The free pool also has kid-friendly arcade game room next to it. However, we found the spa pool worth the extra fee--the pool has wade-in area great for younger kids; whole pool area is light, airy, with relaxing feel. Very clean. Spa area also has raquet ball and basketball (for a small fee and includes equipment) which kids enjoyed.

Trip Type: Family Review 8 of 29Needs Improvement
- room not made up, despite 3 requests - rude personnel at fitness center/ spa - Guest services counter closed on each of three attempts to access it - rewards program counter had a long line each time we went to sign up - Stayed with kids - were forced to walk all the way around the hotel and to different floors in order to access parts of the hotel on the boardwalk because hotel does not allow kids to walk through casino areas. Hotel is clearly geared to serve thousands of guests at a time. There is no concept of personal service and guests seem to be treated as one of a herd. Not a terrible experience, but not one I would pay for again.

When you boof at "Bally's, you get a room at Claridge. The remodeling is inconvienant and the hotel has a stench.

Trip Type: Family Review 14 of 29Bargain Price = Bargain Room
Hotel staff and service was descent. The overall hotel and rooms felt a bit aged with only basic amentities and features; no plasma tvs? Pool hours and exercise room had very limited hours of operation. Plenty of elevators for the towers, with little to no wait, even during busy periods. We got a decent rate for being in AC on the boardwalk; and near the shops on the pier. But would have been disappointed if I paid more for the room. I see it as a bargain room at a bargain price.

Trip Type: Family Review 15 of 29Dont stay at the Claridge tower
We were initially placed in the Claridge Tower. The room was old and smelled funny despite being a non-smoking room. We asked for a different room especially since I was pregnant and had my daughter with me. The new room was awesome! I felt that we got the money we paid for. It was newly renovated and very contemporary.
