Trip Type: Romance Review 1 of 51"Great Location"
We just got engaged this past weekend and we stayed at The Dupont. Overall room was very clean and neat. No safe to store the ring in though...lol! Ok, all joking aside...we had a little trouble with the heating and cooling at the hotel (I'm sure this had something to do with it being 28degrees Fri and then reaching 70degrees on Sat). Brian, the manager at The Dupont comp'd us an awesome breakfast for the HVAC problems...thanks Brian!!! Great food places to check out: Kramerbooks-bookstore in front & fantastic eatery in back. Also, check out Larry's Incredible Cupcakes and Ice Cream!!! THE BEST CUPCAKES EVER!!!

Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 51Great Stay Overall
We arrived and our room was not ready. The front desk graciously apologized by offering us free drinks and upgraded us to a suite for all 3 nights! Despite a little snafu with housekeeping (took old towels and bathrobes and forgot to bring new ones), all in all it was a wonderful stay. Great neighborhood with great dining and shops, and the Metro is a block away! Be careful to not request the Park view, as is was a bit noisy withi the circle traffic. Did quiet down after midnight, but not for the light sleeper! We will definetly be back!

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 51Very nice room & great restaurant
This hotel is in excellent condition; the rooms and common areas are clean and well maintained. The hotel is clearly being run in European style: No tightly fitting bathroom door, no shower curtain or door (glass at the shower head end), no washcloths unless you request them. We found the bar and restaurant very pleasant, with good mixed drinks and tasty food. The staffs of both hotel and restaurant were friendly and helpful. The Dupont Circle is a very nice location, just a one mile from the national mall, and with bus and Metro stops close at hand. Recommended!

Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 51Comfortable Room
We stayed at the Dupont Hotel for 2 nights during July 4th weekend (Rm 404). Checking in & out was a breeze and the staff were all friendly. They gave us a local map and itinerary for July 4th weekend events. The hotel is right across the street from the Metro so it was convenient, with many restaurants opened late at night. A restaurant across the street from the hotel is open 24/7 on weekends. The hotel is still pretty new and walking through the halls you can smell the new carpeting. My husband and I loved the room. It's small, like a boutique hotel, and it has modern furnishings. The bed was firm and the pillows did not flatten out. The flat screen TV & chaise was nice and even the Sony Dreamcast was useful since we can charge our iPhone. The bathroom (which is an open area) had heated tiles (which was lovely) but the shower lacked a door / curtain causing water to flood out to where the toilet was. It wasn't an issue since it dried up quickly but that seemed like a poor design. Also, there weren't enough towels for two adults and I couldn't control the temperature in the shower. I like my showers HOT but the shower was only lukewarm. I think the hotel locked the faucet handle in the shower since there was hot water in the bathroom sink. Also, there's an area for a mini-bar but when we opened it up there was no fridge! It's possible the hotel is still adding it to the rooms... just seems strange. Other than that it was a lovely stay. I would stay again if I found another good deal.

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 51Outstanding
The service, the accomodations, the overall experience was way beyond anything I could expect for the price I paid. This hotel was within walking distance from the White House. The hotel overall is ultra-modern, and very pleasing to the eye. The only complaint I would have with the rooms is that the door to the bathroom is smoked glass, and therefore does not offer any sound dampening, so you really have to know the people you are staying with. The restaurant in the lobby area shares the same decor and is just as beautiful. Another thing worth mentioning is the people are ridiculously nice. You will not experience service like you will when you go there. Very, very good experience.

Stayed one night with my girlfriend. Left in the morning for a flight to CA. Realized at 4 pm camera was missing. Called hotel as that was the last place it had been used. Nothing. Kinda suspicious.

Trip Type: Romance Review 11 of 51Disappointing
A big fan of the Jury's Hotel in Boston, I was very disappointed in The Dupont Hotel, especially given recent makeover. Service was slow. AC didn't work well. Bathroom was not well designed at all. The toilet and the shower head are 2 feet apart with no door between. Water splashes everywhere. Construction and traffic are so bad that getting a taxi is impossible. Dupont Circle, though, is a great area.

Trip Type: Romance Review 12 of 51Great hotel in middle of Dupont Circle area!
Had an excellent sleep, new contempory furnishings. Not too hip on the frosted glass bathroom door- and the shower spray -no door or curtain-ended up in the toilet area...I would consider that those things were the only flaws. And- one more thing-our room with a view was the lower part of the roof- not the city- but we were going to sleep so we just shut the blinds- no worries....

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 51Enjoyed the Stay
We were told that book in time was 3:00 but when we arrived at noon the staff was very accommodating. The room was incredibly nice, recently remodeled, and had every amenity needed other than a refrigerator but there was an ice machine near the room so it wasn't a necessity. The staff was incredible, they were quick to ask if there was anything we needed. Would definately stay there again.

Our room was renovated, was very modern. This hotel has a great location. Its close enough to the National Mall but far enough away that you don't feel crowded with tourists. Perfect for couples.

Hotel was conveniently located to all the attractions and Metro Station. Great Valiue for the dollar. They are still renovating part of the Hotel so it may be a little noisy. The bathroom provides little privacy(bathroom door is frosted glass). Service was good. Would not recommend the hotel restaurant. Food was so so and service was slow. Overall I would recommend the Dupont Hotel and would go back again.
