Very cool historic building. What it lacked in creature comfort it made up for in charm. Walkable to Bloor St shopping. Subway 1/2 block away was really convenient. On the downside, parking was really cramped, even for a small car. Other reviewers commented on rude staff--I didn't have a problem, though I noticed more than one other guest having heated arguments with the front desk and they didn't appear to be handling it very well.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 3 of 31Disappointed
The Clarion Hotel was a disappointment. The room was small for the price that we payed for one night. The beds were uncomfortable and the breakfast was nothing great. I could not believe how much we were charged to park there, especially since we were there for less than 24 hours. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone going to Toronto.

Clean, very comfortable bed, friendly staff. Breakfast could have been better. Subway right across the street and cute pub around thec orner for late night drink and food. Would go back again.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 7 of 31Great Hotel
We found this hotel to be excellent for the money we paid. The air conditioner in our room did not work but outside temps were comfortable enough. The proximity to the subway was a plus. The staff were very helpful in giving directions. All things considered, our trip was very pleasant and our stay here was part of that.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 12 of 31Poor room condition, old and damp
Location-wise this hotel is very good and its the very reason I booked from them. However the room is small and smelly, not enough ventilation. Parking is very bad and expensive 13 dollars a night and the lot next block charges 9. Tiny Tiny Tiny Tiny and old elevator, go see for yourself if you don't believe me.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 13 of 31Great Location for the price
The rooms are all squeezed into this remodeled mansion. The banquet room is just a large room to eat in in the lower level, which they call the 1st floor. We staid on the 1st floor but it really is just a finished basement - real nice room, but you definitely feel like your in a basement. I would recommend trying to get a room on the 2nd or 3rd floors for better view and ease of entry and exit.

We just needed a place to stay while doing some sightseeing for a day in Toronto. The room was pretty small and the water pressure was weak in the shower. The continental breakfast was decent and the hotel staff was nice. I recommend staying at this hotel if you just need a place to sleep. Parking is available for $13/night. The hotel is about a $10 cab ride away from yonge and dundas, so that's pretty good.
