Good location - not so good lodging

Good things: Location the lady that does the breakfast was nice the tall caucasian man at the front desk was nice price was reasonable for city lodging Bad things: The other front desk staff were condescending - I mean, hello, if we lived in and knew Toronto we would not be staying in a hotel, right? The bed linens in the rooms need replacing. Holes in both outer and inner linen items/blankets. Room was tiny.

Good Hotel

The hotel rooms were overall comfortable. Their breakfast was ok...toast, boiled eggs, cereal. yogurt, juice, coffee and tea. Good for a light start of the day.Parking was available for a small fee.

Bad...

The only positive is cleanliness. Other than that everything needs great improvement. Front desk personnel were at best indifferent. The room was very small, smelling old, peeling paint on the walls, the closet had no shelves, but it had a large crack in the wall (you could stick your finger in it). To top it off there's a construction site right in front of the window, and those guys started work (with heavy machinery) at 7 am. I don't know how good the free breakfast is because I could not get myself to try it: the breakfast room is a low ceiling, windowless room in the basement that cut my appetite... The neighborhood may be safe, although it doesn't look so, and it's a good half hour walk to downtown. There are much better choices.

Close to subway; not wheelchair excessible

Nice surroundings and clean hotel

Clean rooms, nice surrounding area, limited parking. 1 block away from subway station. many food options. right in downtown, near to almost all downtown attractions in area. Hotel is old one but well maintained. Complimentary breakfast is good.

Historical Landmark at its prim

This hotel is about 125 years old and very charming. Our stay was extremely good. Breakfast was great. Room was modest. Hard to imagine someone being disappointed. Absolutely there is nothing to be disappointed or embarrassed about this place. In North America we need more of this kind of hotels offered. Cheap stuff like veneer plastic fake woods is not classy to me. This building comes under the Heritage act therefore it as to be preserved the way it is. Imperfections are part of the building that makes it authentic. Take moment and enjoy the place. The staff was very accommodating for our needs and request. It is reasonable compared to many other hotels.

Quaint hotel

Old home makes for a very nice stay - right across the street from a train station it is centrally located and the staff were wonderful.
