Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 20Great Hotel and Great Price
The Clarion Hotel and Suites was a great place to stay for the price. It is relatively close to all of the tourist attractions and downtown. The walk is nice and there are some interesting sights along the way. Our room was very comfortable and clean. Staff were courteous. Parking was a mess, but it is assigned for a fee.

Trip Type: Romance Review 3 of 20Recommended for young people
I booked this hotel for a trip with my boyfriend. We are in our 20s, and we got a great rate, and the hotel suited us just fine. It was clean and the location was near a subway, but also walking distance from the city. A family may not find the hotel suitable or comfortable enough, but I think it's appropriate for young people looking to get the best value out of their money.

Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 20Nice hotel, but needs improvement
The hotel front desk staff were not rude, but they were not friendly either. We felt like we were bothering the person checking us in and likewise the person checking us out of the hotel. The room was clean and tidy (although small which we expected). The full size room had a bathroom with just a shower and not a tub. But delightfully, the bathroom was big enough for 2 people to use the mirror at the same time. The location is convenient. Sherbourne TTC is across the street. Bloor-Yonge TTC is a few blocks west. It is on the edge of a "not so nice" area, so I wouldn't recommend walking south too far at night by yourself.

Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 20ok for the money, terrible view
The room was in a basement dungeon, looking out on to a cleaning/prep area for hotel staff. This meant, every morning, I was woken up with clangs of pots, pans and the smell of cleaning supplies, and the room was always pitch black even though the entire weekend was sunny and cloudless. I booked a Queen bed room (not the cheapest option) and the hotel staff would not transfer to a better room on their 3 other empty floors.

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 20Not fancy but adequate
Clean, unadorned, adequate. A decent place to stay in an expensive town for a relatively reasonable price. One block from subway - very convenient; surrounding neighborhood seems OK - working class residential. Laundromat on first floor; breakfast very adequate even if somewhat less than lovely dining facilities.

Trip Type: Romance Review 10 of 20Great experience for the price!
I read all of the reviews before we booked & I was not deterred. This place was not in a bad neighborhood at all. It's on the north end of the downtown area & right near the Sherbourne subway. Very convenient. I never felt scared once. Our room was smaller, but plenty nice for us. The bed & pillows weren't very comfortable though. The bathroom was smaller, but that didn't bother me, however, we didn't have very good water pressure. The staff & front desk were VERY nice, despite what was said in other reviews. The hotel was very clean & charming. The breakfast was nothing to write home about, but it was free! We would definitely stay here again.

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 20Great Experience!
From the get-go this was a great hotel experience. The room I had booked was much too small for two people (it is a converted Victorian mansion, so each room is somewhat unique). The desk clerk upgraded us to a larger room for no extra charge. Service was extremely friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable, extra pillows were brought promptly on request. There is a $13/day charge for parking, however this is on par with the surrounding lots. Location is one short block from the TTC subway, makes travelling the city a breeze. Highly recommended, I'd come back again.
