Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 1 of 60Unfriendly staff for average hotel
The hotel is not greatly located, is in average condition and the staff is rude. If you just have to spend a night and look for a budget location, go for it otherwise any other pick will be better.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 3 of 60Very good hotel!
I was very pleased with my stay at this hotel. The staff was very helpful and nice. The room was clean and had a lot of extra staff (coffee maker, ironing board, iron etc). They have free breakfast in the morning starting from 7 AM and I was very surpirsed with the variety of items on the buffet menu. Overall, I am very happy with my stay and I would recommend this hotel to everyone!

Trip Type: Special Event Review 5 of 60Good value
This hotel is in an old mansion on Sherbourne, just below Bloor, on the far east side of downtown Toronto. There are several blocks of not so interesting walking to get to Yonge Street and more of the entertainment district, but with public transportation it is manageable. The hotel itself is comfortable, well stocked, and rather ramshackle. Lots of interesting period detail in the front part, but the rooms are in a rear annex which while clean needs serious work. However, it was a great value, and service was excellent.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 6 of 60for the price-a good stay
Great location. Hotel is a bit on the tired side, but adequate for the price. I would stay these again if I was on a budget. Staff was very helpful.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 7 of 60Cheap in Every Way
We got this hotel for a very cheap rate and felt it might have been a great deal since the pictures looked great. Unfortunately, there was more than one reason we paid so little. The room met none of the criteria we had requested, there was little parking (though you did have to pay $13 a day for it) and what was there was almost to dangerous to navigate, the surrounding neighborhood was a little scary at night, and the location was so far away from any local attractions or transit we were forced to drive everywhere. Our room was in the basement (where many of the rooms are located) which made it very dark and dungon-like since leaving the curtains open meant the people walking by on the street could see everything. It was ok for the few nights we stayed, but I would not go back.

Parking is not available. You must pay for the lot across the street.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 13 of 60Great room for the money
If you're looking for a hotel that's reasonably priced, conveniently located to public transportation and moderately comfortable, then this is the place to stay in Toronto. If you're looking for a luxurious home-away-from-home then look elsewhere, but the Clarion is just the place to reat a weary head after a day-and-night-about-town with clean rooms, comfortable beds and reasonable conveniences.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 14 of 60Unfortunate vehicle size
Being only a few blocks away from Downtown worked out well for dinner. It is, however, not in downtown - about 4 blocks away. I had requested a non-smoking room and did not receive one due to the hotel being sold out. Even though my reservation had requested a non-smoking room, I was not told of the unavailability upon check-in. It wasn't until I walked into the room, I realized what had happened. The bathtub was also not completely clean with small hairs from a previous user. The hotel does provide in/out access parking for a fee. There is very limited parking for large vehicles. We had to park across the street at the public parking which was slightly cheaper than the hotel but with no in/out privileges.
