Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 13Great Staff
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The location is very convenient, but wthout the high price of a downtown hotel. Most importantly, the hotel staff was terrific.

Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 13Great Service
I was very satisfied with my stay at this hotel. The building is a beautiful old house with tons of charm and character. The location was very convenient, but without the high price that comes with one of the downtown hotels. Most importantly, the staff was outstanding. I would definitely stay here again should I ever head back to Toronto.

Trip Type: Business Review 4 of 13Hotel is OK
This hotel is very simple and someone antiquated. This was my second stay here, and probably the main reason for coming again was price and familiarity. It's a couple of miles from downtown Toronto, which isn't too bad if you have a rental car. The breakfast is simple but not bad (mostly waffles, cereal, and apples). The beds are a little firm for me. There is plenty of counter space in the bathroom, which is nice. They were having a pretty serious phone issue during my stay that had not happened previously. It kept ringing throughout one night and continued waking me up about every hour until I finally told them to make it stop. Bizarrely, there were about 20 voicemails the next day that were either blank or had recordings of the hotel's own hold music. Finally, they have an old-style elevator here that I think is just the coolest thing. It's one where you have to open a door and pull back a second retractable door, which is annoying with luggage but kind of nostalgic otherwise.

Wonderful staff. Helpful, atttentive and kind. Rooms are a bit small, but updated and clean. Breakfast was very good, again staff excellent.

Trip Type: Business Review 7 of 13Our Experience at the Clarion in Toronto, ON
The evening front desk agent greeted us outside. She did not explain the circumstances that there is a parking fee before initializing the paragraph. After a long tiring drive to our destination, the first on our mind is get to our room and rest. The elevator is outdated from the 1930s wherein you needed to open a door and then push a sliding gate. It barely fit 4 individuals and small luggage. The hotel at 7:00 p.m. did not have anyone to assist with the luggage or show where the elevator is located.

Trip Type: Business Review 9 of 13Great hotel for business travelers
This hotel was a great value for me as a business travel. The rates are very reasonable, and there is a decent continental breakfast included. High-speed Internet is also included in the price, and the drive into downtown Toronto is pretty easy. Because of the small rooms and older facilities, I would probably not recommend the hotel for a nice vacation, but it was perfect for our business travels.

Trip Type: Business Review 10 of 13Great hotel
My stay was excellent. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the University of Toronto, great shopping, and museums. If you prefer the subway, it is right around the corner. The area around the hotel is safe. A great value.

Trip Type: Business Review 11 of 13Only OK for the money
I had a basement room that had a window that looked into the service area/storage closet of the hotel. Access to the subway is great, it is all but across the street. If you do not plan on spending much time in your room it is a an ok choice for the money

Trip Type: Business Review 12 of 13Excellent quality and value
This is an outstanding hotel for the price. It is in a great location just next to a subway terminal and within relatively close proximity to the University of Toronto and downtown using the subway. The facilities are well-maintained, the staff is experienced and polite, and I was surprised at the quality of the continental breakfast. Highly recommend.

Trip Type: Business Review 13 of 13A Mansion Stay
A century old Toronto landmark, the former mansion of a famous Canadian distilling family, on the east side of the downtown, well connected to transportation routes (subway, bus, taxi), interestingly sandwiched between a somewhat disreptuable area which is in a slow transition to the south and one of the city's most exclusive neighbourhoods to the north. The hotel is perhaps better described as a large bed and breakfast. Ammenities include free in-room wireless internet, free cold and hot breakfast (limited to scrambled eggs on the hot side), free morning newspaper, reasonably priced parking (although limited). Rooms are very clean and comfortable and range from the small to a variety of sized suites. Very quiet, very clean: I witnessed the breakfast room attendant cleaning crumbs from the toaster with popcicle sticks! Excellent value for the money, but not your cup of tea if you are especially nervous of the odd indigent.
