Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 199nice boutique hotel
Terrific hotel for the price. I love the upper west side. If you are looking for Times Square, this might be a little out of the way, but it's convenient to the subway and I like staying in a somewhat quieter neighborhood. I've stayed here several times before- always winds up a good value for my business trips. Hallways need new carpets, and the rooms are small, but that applies to most NY hotels. Bathroom was clean, but bath grout lines could have been better- a cleaning with bleach is in order. But nothing more than I've experienced at most other hotels. Funky decor. Since I spent most of my time outisde, the ultra-modern bathroom was fine. Bed was comfy.

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 199Alot of tourists
comfortable room; wireless internet service hit or miss - (OK if I wanted to stand by the entrance door) - but, they still had hardwired working if requested. $12.95 a day internet - no business friendly Rooms very nice; bed comfortable; pleasant staff

Trip Type: Business Review 7 of 199Service needs improvement
The reception desk leaves much to be desired. No matter what I asked, staff was rude or simply just ignored my questions. They cover for each other very well. It seems that the customer gets in the way, is always wrong, must be endured, and is nothing but a inconvenience. Aside from that everything else about the hotel is great. However, since hotel costs have declined and availability has increased - I will definately consider other hotels in the future.

One the Ave is a nice change from the mid-town hustle and bustle. Very convenient location and helpful staff.

Trip Type: Business Review 12 of 199Worth the subway ride(s) to midtown meetings
I was in for business, but didn't really want a midtown hotel. Easy access to the broadway trains meant this hotel's location was no issue on that front, and the bonus of its location made the couple of extra stops worthwhile. as a runner, being able to head a couple of blocks to central park was probably the highlight. Did use the in-house workout room one rushed day and it was fine for my needs, though with only 2 of each (treadmill, elliptical, bike, weight station) might be an issue on a crowded day, I don't know. Didn't eat in their restaurants so can't comment there. the room was comfortable, clean, ditto the bath. all in all, just fine. a warning for those who drive in, they do have parking available, but like all manhattan, it is very expensive.

Trip Type: Business Review 15 of 199OTA Hotel...whats up with the shower?
Great hotel. Clean, small, modern comfortable and quaint....but what was up with the continuous shower in the bathroom? I am sure it was meant to accommodate the handicap and was certainly sufficient, but the water ran from the shower to the toilet...basically, all over the floor. Outside of having to sop up water every morning (in this bathroom particularly)in order to find a dry spot to brush my teeth, shave, etc., the hotel was GREAT.
