Trip Type: With Friends Review 2 of 14Fabulous Hotel
The Sofitel LA was fabulous!! The staff treated me like royalty. The room was very well appointed with every creature comfort imaginable. Made it very hard to leave and come home. If I go back to LA, I will definitely stay there again.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 3 of 14Great Stay for Spring Break
The hotel was great and the surrounding Beverly Hills area was awesome for the out of towner. The room was spacious and modern. Only draw back was the price for parking and LA traffic.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 4 of 14Great rooms and awesome service
we checked in at 4pm and left to have dinner at 6pm and when we returned a couple hours later, we have fresh towels already.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 6 of 14Room is very small
Everyone was very pleasent and helpful. The room however with one kingsize bed is very small for two people. Housekeeping never left enough towels for two people.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 7 of 14Overall Great Hotel
Although it cost more than i typically pay for a leisure travel hotel - i was thourougly impressed by the Sofitel. The staff allowed me an early check-in to a great room. The only room available for early check in was on a "smoking-optional" floor - but when i walked into the room there was absolutely no smell, a testament to the cleanliness of the place. The hotel was very convenient for West LA, Beverly Hills area - cabs were waiting at all hours just across the street so getting around (I don't drive) was not a problem.

The hotel staff was very friendly and I absolutely loved the bed. Overall, I enjoyed my stay there..the only thing that could use improvement is the pool area. It is very small...

We very much enjoyed our two-night stay at the Sofitel. The room was a bit too small, but it was clean, quiet, and otherwise quite comfortable.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 10 of 14Outstanding room for the money!!
Great location if you're looking to sightsee in Hollywood. Right down the street from Melrose Place, Beverly Blvd. and Sunset Strip. Macy's shopping center directly across the street. Walking distance to Longs Drugs, Old Navy, etc.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 12 of 14Lap of Luxury
Possibly the comfiest bed and most luxurious shower I've ever had at a hotel. The gym is also one of the best, tons of bikes, treadmills, weights and weight machines, plus free evian and headsets. And our room had a killer view of the Hollywood hills and the Hollywood sign, and we didn't even request that. My only complaints: no hair salon in the hotel (I always need a post-plane hair fix) and no umbrellas at the pool (it was 95 when we were there with no shade!)

Trip Type: With Friends Review 14 of 14"Sofitel Los Angeles c'est si bon..."
I have had the pleasure of staying at three US-based Sofitels in the past few years. Bloomington, Minnesota, Chicago, Illinois and the one I am going to write this review about which is located in Los Angeles, California. My stay at the Sofitel in Bloomington was back in the mid-90's on a rather unremarkable business trip. The one thing that stands out in my memory is how odd I thought it was for the front desk staff (who were obviously dyed-in-the-wool Midwesterners) to be speaking with an affected French accent. The Sofitel Water Tower in Chicago is a spectacularly beautiful building that comes to a knife's edge point. And they actually made good use of this unusual architecture. I know because the suite I had there was *IN* that narrow portion of the building and it was gorgeous and eminently functional. I moved from Northern California to Orange County at the end of 2006 and have stayed at the Sofitel Los Angeles more than half a dozen times since then. The reason being that I often spend my weekends in LA proper and the drive back to Newport Beach sucks after a night of partying. But I digress. From my first stay there, I have been tremendously impressed with this property. From the well laid out carriage-way, to the polite valets, bellmen and front desk staff to the lightning quick elevators. This hotel recently underwent a $40M renovation and it really shows. The lobby is very understated and elegant. Black marble and subdued lighting. That same sort of low-key elegance is evident in the rooms as well. I have been lucky enough to stay in both of their uber-suites at either end of the top floor. Both boast gorgeous marble bathrooms with HUGE tubs and separate shower, outdoor patios with fireplaces and seating areas and voluminous sitting areas in addition to the spacious bedrooms. Both also have wide-screen high-def televisions in both the living area and bedroom and have gorgeous views of Sunset Blvd and the Hollywood hills. Those rooms are prohibitivel
