Hotels.com: Sofitel Los Angeles, Los Angeles, CA

We stayed at the Sofitel for three nights and thought the hotel was very comfortable, with over sized showers, soft bedding and a beautiful view of the Hollywood Hills. Our only complaint was a bathrobe in the closet that had not been removed and laundered. It had obviously been worn by a previous room occupant since we found his swim goggles in the pocket (ick!!). Also, we came down one morning to find our car parked next to the Valet stand (we had not asked to have it brought up). When we asked why our car was there, and how long it had been there, no one knew and said they thought we had called for it. They did take one night's valet parking off our bill as compensation. Overall, it is a really beautiful hotel, the bar is gorgeous and the location is great. I think the service issues were minor and they seemed to genuinely want to do the right thing.

Booked a Prestige Suite with a beautiful view of the Hollywood Hills. Everything about the room was perfect and the hotel staff from check in to valet were very friendly and helpful as always. Breakfast is wonderful and a great value as most breakfasts include juice and coffee and a complimentary basket of breakfast breads. Valet parking is a bit pricey, but it's Beverly Hills and the location is excellent. You can walk to restaurant row on La Cienaga for fine dining. We enjoyed Lawry's Prime Rib this trip, but recommend Fogo de Chao and Arnie Morton's as well for great dinners.

We had a harrowing taxi cab ride from LAX, just barely avoiding a crash. The front desk staff was extremely concerned when we told them of this experience. They sent us a beautiful fruit platter with a note stating that they hoped that our stay at the hotel would be a wonderful experience, and that we would enjoy our visit to Los Angeles in spite of the cab incident. We very much appreciated this kindness, and would highly recommend this hotel.

I was in the Opera Suite, a 2-room suite with a two-part open-air balcony on the Penthouse (10th) floor. It was definitely the nicest and most luxurious hotel I have ever stayed at. There were a few minor blemishes such as the LCD tv not working very well in the bedroom (but the second one in the living area worked fine), a few feathers (from the maid's dusting) on the floor, and some wooden furniture that was showing signs of age, especially around the edges. When I called guest services with a technical question, they sent maintenance right up, which I sincerely appreciated. They also called me right back after researching an issue I asked them a question about. My view was opposite the eight story Beverly Center with a far off view of downtown L.A.'s skyscrapers. There was a separate standing shower and bathtub with L'Occitane toiletries and a small LCD screen. The mini-bar was fully stocked although I didn't take anything out of it as the prices were very high. The wireless high-speed internet is through T-Mobile's hotspot and worked very well. Parking is valet only and your options are limited if you intend to bring a car to the hotel. Overall, a wonderful night.

This was to me considered right on with hotels.com and a Frommers Los Angeles day to day book. A few months ago we went to Paris and stayed at a hotel by similar recommendations to the sources I searched and I was totally unhappy with the hotel that upon arriving in Paris and having jet lag and enjoying I spend the day searching for a hotel and insist on viewing the rooms. I succeeded & have an awesome time. So going to California with my younger daughter I did not want to come close to having that experience. We both liked it very much at the Sofitel L.A. and there were many on hands to assist you with your needs for the day. Doorman are present & offer suggestions on tours and where to get a quick bite. The morning was especially fun we had a waitress Sandra that my daughter looked forwarded to seeing every morning & room service was great. Internet use in the hotel was another plus. I did not book the room for as long as we were suppose to be in Los Angeles. The room small but had all requirements for comfort the bathroom was a nice surprise. I thought of perhaps having another experience with another hotel & my daughter was sad and ask to not ruin a good thing. Service was good I am a believer in good service. (It always pays off).

Spent several days with my precocious 11 year old son during spring break: he loved it at first sight! Uber chic environment, very contemporary, very comfortable! Definitely for the young at heart: my mother probably wouldn't stay here and families with little kids on theme park vacation wouldn't enjoy this hotel. Executive suite was one of the best we have enjoyed, and will definitely book this level again upon return to LA. Hotel staff: omnipresent, perfect "people skills", from the valet, bellmen, reception to waitstaff. Each so pleasant and helpful, added even more to the enjoyment. Restaurant was excellent, but the breakfast PANCAKES were out of this world! Noise levels on the 10th floor not an issue. Pool was small and isolated, my son's ONLY dislike. Great location for exploring Hollywood/Beverly Hills. Non smoking floor was necessary and available. Had never stayed at a Sofitel property and we were delighted! Also, our first experience with hotels.com..excellent!!
