Convenient Hotel

Very convenient, comfortable room

Good hotel in great airport location but construction is a negative

We stayed at the Sofitel before an early morning departure from Gatwick. Construction has resulted in closure of the skybridge connecting it to Gatwick so it is less convenient than normal. It is still possible to walk to the North terminal by going outside and crossing a busy street. We found the staff to be very courteous and efficient. Seating capacity in the hotel's three restaurants is limited when the hotel is full; we could not be seated util 9:30 p.m. It is safest to reserve a table in advance.

Great room for money

This hotel is conveniently located on the north terminal of Gatwick airport! Its a clean, quiet, spacious refuge in the midst of this large urban airport. Its not for people who want to be able to get to London quickly daily. But if you're in town for a meeting or for the night before a flight, its perfect. The room is larger than expected, the bed comfortable, the bathroom sparkling. Its a really good deal. The restaurants are pretty good too!

Gatwick Terminal N

If you are flying in and out of Gatwick terminal North, this is the perfect hotel for pre flight stay. Easily walk to Hotel from Terminal N.

Excellent hotel

Excellent hotel with friendly staff, good food in the restaurant. Internet service is expensive. It really is time that wifi should be provided free of charge in the rooms as a standard part of entertainment/communications just like a TV. Sofitel is not the only chain still charging, but a change in corporate policy would hardly cost anything and would put them ahead of several competitors.

Very convenient for early morning international flight

This was a perfect hotel to stay at the night before our early morning international flight home. Being able to return our rental car early, and walk through the tunnel at the hotel into the airport terminal was extremely convenient.

Get with the Internet Era!

Access to Internet was available in the lobby only upon purchase of vouchers. According to the desk clerk. only GBP 25 vouchers were available (I needed only to check in online thus a much smaller amount would have been suitable). In any case many hotels now offer specific airline check in online facilities for free, and Sofitel shoiuld get with it!

Outstanding Hotel

I did not get there early enough to use any other service. Arrived after midnight and had an early flight, so I just needed to sleep and shower. It was an easy walk/terminal shuttle ride from the train station in S Terminal to the hotel in N Terminal even with luggage. For what you pay on Hotels.com, what a deal!!! Very comfortable bed.

The Best Choice in Gatwick

The Sofitel is like an oasis after a long transatlantic flight. The convenience of being able to walk right to the door of your room without the hassle of a shuttle bus is well worth the extra few dollars. The hotel is clean, stylish, comfortable, & modern. The only draw back is the charge for internet access, which is really quite unfitting for such an elite hotel. Restaurants are expensive, but you can easily walk into the north terminal and grad a less expensive pub meal there. Best of all, the train station is a short, free, & direct tram ride to south terminal where you can purchase tickets on the Gatwick Express right to Victoria Station in the heart of London, or catch a train to any other destination you seek. With this kind of convenience, staying at the Sofitel on the arrival and departure ends of our trip was one of the best decisions we made.

Very Convenient

We had an overnight stay in London on our way back to Dallas from Verona...The Sofitel Hotel at Gatwick airport was pricey but very convenient and comfortable. Good restaurants for various palates, very comfortable bed. A needed rest was well provided.
