Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 4Very cute B&B, great location
My wife and I located this little gem just a day before we were set to arrive in San Diego on our family road trip down the west coast. It fit our mood and needs completely. We were kindly met by one of the hotel staff, though due to its size and location we were doubting we were in the right place. The old victorian house looks a bit out of place due to other newer structures but was beautiful both inside and out. The room, which was 1 of 9 available, was very cozy and felt like a blend between old victorian times and the 21st century. Although there clearly was no lobby (or a need for one) it seemed as though the staff was always present and offered assistance at every turn. The location could not have been more perfect for our needs as it was just about 1.2 mile walk straight down 4th or 5th Ave to the Gas Lamp district and was two blocks away from the edge of Balboa Park.

Trip Type: Family Review 2 of 4Beautiful Hotel
If you enjoy Victorian architecture, this is the place to stay. Walk to Balboa Park, restaurants are nearby. Not a lot of available parking, but it worked out.

Highly recommend the healthy breakfast choice - Paula's homemade granola and yogurt!

Trip Type: Family Review 4 of 4Gracious Comfort
The first room we were assigned was the "Carriage House" - small but comfortavle; however, there was no way to keep the bath water in the tub due to a faulty stopper. The management graciously moved us to s splendid room, "The Renaissance Room" at no extra charge the next morning. This was a beautiful accommodation. I felt that all the staff, from the cook to the waitstaff tried to be engaging, kind and helpful.
