Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 15If you ever get the chance to stay here, do it!
The Britt Scripps Inn is a beautiful Victorian Bed and Breakfast. The entire house is a wonderful feast for the eyes. The Library Room is lovely and very comfortable. The staff were polite and responsive our entire stay. The breakfast was very good Saturday and Sunday, but it would have been slightly improved if the staff was a little more polished with their service. Overall a wonderful experience.

Wonderful Staff, Ben was Great! We absolutely LOVED the very comfortable room. The Gourmet Breakfast sunday was AWESOME, my wife and I both loved it our thanks to the Chef! After Breakfast we went for a little walk and realized the the B&B was only a few blocks from the wonderful Balboa Park with all of it's history, wonderful museums, beautiful gardens, hiking trails. This added a nice finish to a wonderful weekend in San Diego. Thanks Again!

Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 15Britt Scripps elegance and charm
We arrived to find a most grand and lovely Victorian home before us. We were warmly welcomed by the on duty Butler, Ben, who was kind, informative, and ever so accommodating. Soon we had crystal champagne flutes in our hands with a most refreshing bubbly...accompanied by an afternoon snack of cheese, crackers, and prosciutto. Yummmm! The Hotel had everything to be desired, however, understandably we were not able to take our first-class morning breakfast in our room on the balcony (it's not allowed as there are most valuable antiques throughout and the staff is very concerned with maintaining integrity as accidents do happen...). We had to settle for a delightful breakfast on the porch with a well placed and elegantly set table. Do I even have to say it? We will be returning....

Trip Type: Romance Review 8 of 15Great Place - an Oasis in the City
The Britt Scripps Inn was a fabulous experience. The overall atmosphere was terrific with tasteful decorating and attention to detail. The breakfasts were delicious, hot and prepared to order. Our only complaint was that our room (Golden Oak) was adjacent to the kitchen so we were awakened early the first morning with the noise from the kitchen activity. Never the less, it did not dampen our enthusiasm for the inn and we will definitely visit again.

My wife and I spent the last 2 days of our trip to California at the Britt Scripts Inn. I wanted to treat her to a little something special. It was definitely the right choice! The web site description does not begin to do justice to thgeir attention to detail. This house has been perfectly restored to it's full Victorian glory from the paint scheme outside to the phenonemal oak stairway complete with 2 story original stained glass windows. The furnishings were even more ornate than the home itself, if that is possible. It's proximity to the Balboa cultural park and the rest of the city was perfect. Everything was close yet when inside the house you felt like you were in the middle of a glorious estate and all alone in your own little world. In the afternoon they served wine, cheese & crackers. Make sure you allow time for the home cooked breakfast in the morning... it is to die for. A custom menu is printed up each day and when we asked if something was available that was not on the menu, they went out of their way to accomodate with absoloute perfection. If we are ever back in the San diego area we will most definitely be staying at the Britt Scripts Inn again. There is not enough room to say all the nice things that are to be said about this charming little peice of heaven.

Everything was just perfect, from the hotel staff, the ambience, the room itself, to the actual location in Balboa Park. Highly recommended!

Trip Type: Romance Review 12 of 15Attention to detail and friendly staff were beyond expectations
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We were given a tour of the house and were struck by the attention to detail the owner put into the restoration of this beautiful home, right down to the hings on the doors. Every room was wonderful! Our delicious breakfast was prepared by a very friendly chef. All of the staff members went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcomed, but we had our privacy as well. We found that the adjacent Balboa park made for delightful evening stroll. Loved our stay there....

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 15Top Notch Service!
The hotel was great in every way. The service was exceptional, breakfast food (included in rate) was gourmet food, and the spa tub in the room was excellent. This hotel was a refreshing change to the normal hotels I stay at. A nice, quaint hotel in Downtown San Diego. Nice location that was central to everything in San Diego.

What a wonderful inn! Not only was it gorgeous, the service was impeccable and the gourmet breakfasts were out of this world. Highly recommended for a romantic getaway. We had dinner in the gaslight district the first night and walked to the zoo on the second day, which took about 20 minutes. Needless to say, we were very pleased with the location, too. Loved it!
