Trip Type: With Friends Review 3 of 28Gorgeous, clean design, spacious rooms, great bell captain
After 7 days in a cramped cruiseship cabin, we opted for a deluxe room here, and it was huge, with a large round table, ergonomic chairs, beautiful built ins, ultracomfy beds & pillows, soothing neutral colors and a well appointed bathroom. The restaurant is hip and has excellent seafood, Sunday brunch & bartenders. Jimmy, the charming bell captain, really looks out for you. He is overworked, however, as are the front desk people & the bartenders. Management may be cutting staff because of this awful economy, but the service does suffer.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 6 of 28STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
I found the staff rude and unhelpful, from the very first moment I arrived. The doorman scoffed at me when I asked if there was a valet, since the parking situation in that part of Boston isn't the best. Then while checking-in, I was scolded by the clerk at the front desk about the no-smoking policy, attached to the room I booked. If I wanted to smoke, I would have booked a SMOKING room; apparently common sense isn't a condition employment at the hotel. Also, as an ADULT I really didn't appreciate being lectured to, on the subject. The only issue I had with the room was the inclusion of a mini-bar menu that included many unavailable items. When we contacted the front desk about in-room dining options, we were told that the kitchen was closed, but we could walk to 7-11, down the street. I would have asked about other options, if I wasn’t hung up on before I could pose the question. The best part of the stay was finding out that they did not validate parking. The extra $38 dollars wasn't the problem; it was the fact I could have and WOULD have stayed at another hotel had I know I was going to be charged an additional $38, for parking. I stayed at another hotel, the previous night, and was only charged $20 for parking. Actually, the parking was free, I tipped their professional and courtesy staff, which parked my car as well as loaded and unloaded my luggage. As someone who travels frequently for work and pleasure, I am often asked by friends and coworkers for recommendations about hotels. I will be VERY hesitant to recommend, or stay at, any of the Summit Hotel & Resorts properties. Writing this review is especially unfortunate because the rooms and amenities were great; too bad the staff ruined what could have been a very pleasant stay.

Our room wasn't very large but it had everything we needed. Of course we also weren't staying very long. For a hotel in the city it exceeded our expectations. I would stay there again in a minute!

Trip Type: With Friends Review 8 of 28Great Hotel
The hotel is located in a very nice part of Boston right by the subway entrance and within walking distance to the baseball stadium. The front desk was very helpfull when we needed to stay an extra night and even got us a better rate.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 10 of 28Great but loud
Any noise outside the room felt like it was right next to you. The doors were half an inch above the ground and that probably contributed to the noise. Everything else was fantastic. The service especially.

We were very satisfied with our stay at the Colonnade. It's a beautiful hotel and in a perfect location, the Prudential T Stop is literally right outside the front door.
