Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 104Upscale, hip, right down town.
Having a one night layover in Chicago for work I needed a cheap hotel and didn't care too much about other features. I turned to hotels.com for a cheap room, and got the Hotel Sax. The hotel was much nicer than I expected for the price. It was very hip, modern, and up scale without being fancy. The room was very nice and quite roomy, although we noticed from the fire exit map our good rate got us one of the smallest rooms on the floor! I can only imagine the other rooms are huge. Lots of eating choices near by, and right downtown. Hard to go wrong, particularly when you get a deal!

Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 104Very pleasant stay
- Center of Chicago. Not far from restaurants/shopping area - Pricey, but high standing - Little less welcoming than similarly priced hotels - Nice room, well furnished - You can hear a little too much the roof AC compressors when you're on the top floor.

Trip Type: Business Review 4 of 104If You Like Boutique This Is The Hotel For You
Room was small, cramped, dark and view was of the towering, circular hotel parking lot! Cool factor is in 6th floor game room and the fact that House of Blues is adjacent to hotel - very convenient.

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 104I love staying at this hotel
I've stayed at the Sax many times, dating back to when it was the House of Blues Hotel. Most of the staff is the same, and they have gotten to know me by name. I've always found them to be very friendly and willing to go out of their way to make sure my stay is as comfortable as possible. The rooms are fairly big, and the beds some of the most comfortable I've slept on anywhere... The best part about it though is the location - convenient to everything inside The Loop! You can't go wrong with this hotel, trust me...

Trip Type: Business Review 9 of 104Good hotel. Great price.
The hotel is very convenient to public transportation and close to the Magnificent Mile. Despite the fact it was right by The House of Blues, and had several party bars on site, my room was nice and quiet. They had good coffee in the lobby in the morning. None of that bad watered down crap that so many hotels offer. The only drawback was the tiny afterthought of a gym. But, if you're not staying long it will get you through a workout or two.

Trip Type: Business Review 12 of 104Dark bordello
I checked out early Sunday morning only to find two ladies trying to explain to the desk clerk that the guy with whom they spent the night was suppose to pay for their parking charges but they didn't know his name - only his room number.

Trip Type: Business Review 13 of 104Great value
We got a prepaid room rate available only throgh Hotels.com that saved us 1/3 off the rate our conference got for a group rate. Very quiet room. Right by the levevator, but never heard a sound. Only negative was that the hallway on our floor was extemely cold. But, it was summer, so who cares?

Trip Type: Business Review 14 of 104Good Location but not a hotel for business trevelers
The location of the hotel is awesome, right at the center of all the activities in Downtown Chicago. The rooms are too small with inadequate lighting, not enough tables for business travelers. The room I stayed in, didn't have a mini bar! which means I had to call room service everytime I wanted even water. The food options in the hotel are limited too and food wasn't good either. Overall a bad experience, the only positive being the location of hotel.
