A Village

Very large hotel, more like a small city. One has rarely a reason to leave the premises. Rooms were clean and comfortable, but not luxurious. Prices for on-site dining and bars are very high compared to localities close-by.

Great staff and very attentive. Hotel is old, not bad, just old. Great food and ambiance

Nice Hotel and Grounds

The Hotel grounds were very nice although a bit commercial. The Luau onsight was nice (small and intimate)...drinks were great. My daughter loved the pools and the beach.

Great Hotel/Location

I was traveling for business with my 13 y.o. son and the HHV was fabulous. It's basically self-contained however close to anything you wanted to do and always a taxi at the ready. The staff were extremely accommodating and pleasant. The room was clean and big. We stayed in the Rainbow Towers with a view of Diamond Head and the Ocean! Couldn't ask for more than that. Also, we got a great rate from Hotels.com compared to others who were in our same room category. I would definitely return. PMcD

Beware if booking for convention or large conference

I had great expectations for this hotel stay as I have had great experiences at other Hilton Hotels. I booked the hotel for a conference. I stood in line to check-in for over one hour. In fact, all weekend long, there were often long lines for the restaurants and again at check-out. The hotel's response was, "I'm sorry...we have a conference in town." I was surprised by this response. They are a very large hotel, near a convention center. It would appear that they are marketing themselves for conferences and large groups. Certainly, this was not the first conference they have had staying at their hotel. Efficiency and management response must be re-evaluated.

Swimming options limited

Hotel overall was very nice. However the pool areas are only open from 8am to 8pm. Was there for a conference so after sessions & dinner, wanted to relax in Jacuzzi before bed but it was always closed by the time I got back. Lovely cool nights, would have been great if Jacuzzi were open until 10 or 11 pm like usual hotels. A big disappointment since Jacuzzi is an amenity that I look for in a hotel for that reason. Also would have been nice to go for a swim at 7am before heading out but again not an option.
