Good hotel and great location

The hotel has a great location right next to the Shinjuku train station. The buffet is alright but make sure to ask about the discount coupons at the front desk everyday. The rooms are small but clean. The bathroom took some getting used to with its plastic, portable-toilet atmosphere. We were on the 20th floor with an incredible view over the city. Internet in the room costs extra and is only free the hotel front desk area (but with very limited possiblities to sit down). I would definitely stay there again.

A Very Nice Hotel in a Great Location

This is my 2nd time staying at the Shinjuku Prince. The first was in 2005. Since then, they've renovated the rooms. They're sleek, modern, and clean. Really liked the design. (But beware - not a single drawer to put things in.) We opted for the "large" room, which was a good thing. It was still smaller than your average US hotel room, but large by Japanese standards, I guess. The staff is pleasant and helpful, tho English is a bit of a problem for some. (I asked the bellman about karaoke, and he didn't understand me at first.) As for location, you just can't ask for much more. It's like staying in the middle of Times Square. Literally 2 blocks away, you're in the heart of the Shinjuku entertainment district. It's alive 24/7. For those so inclined, the gay district is just a short walk away. So is top-notch shopping, including department stores and high-end specialty shops. There's even a multi-story shopping center (I'm talking a real shopping center) right in the hotel, as well as a train station and a subway line. And most importantly, you're only a 5 minute walk to the Shinjuku JR station -- it's one of the busiest train stations in the world, with over 2 million users a day. You can get to anywhere in Tokyo from there. BTW: There are plenty of places to eat in the neighborhood, but if you're inclined to use the hotel's breakfast buffet, see if you can find a package deal that includes breakfast. It's a decent buffet, and it's not cheap if you have to pay separately for it. In short, if you're into being in the heart of the Times Square of Japan, you can't go wrong staying here.

Great hotel

Very clean room and close to public transportations! Agree with other reviewers that this is a good hotel to stay if it is your first visit to tokyo. Room is not too small, much better than rooms on cruise ships.
