Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 55Great boutique hotel in the heart of Chicago's Gold Coast
This is an excellent hotel with an attentive staff, nicely appointed rooms, contemporary baths, comfortable beds, floor to ceiling glass offering great views of the city and the lake. There are several sizes of rooms avaialable, and the top floor two-level suites are outstanding. The lobby is comfortable, and The Whiskey Bar located on the first floor is a great little club. Skip the "big name" hotels and stay at The Sutton Place Hotel. You won't regret it!

Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 55Excellent All Around
While definitely not the Four Seasons, this hotel was clean, well kept, well located, and a pleasure to be in. While no great shakes in terms of dining, there are so man places so close by that that makes no difference. Great, pleasant, helpful personnel in all areas - doormen, concierge, front desk, room service, etc. Very happy with this hotel, and will stay there again.

Trip Type: Business Review 4 of 55Great location.
Great location. Hotel was a bit "clinical". Not what I would call "cozy". But very clean, efficient, up-to-date.

Service was even better -- but I wasn't prepared for the parking fees

Trip Type: Business Review 9 of 55Fantastic Hotel
This was a great hotel with a great location in relation to downtown Chicago. The only real issue was parking but where in Chicago is that not an issue. The rooms were among the best I've ever stayed in, very swanky.

Trip Type: Business Review 11 of 55Great hotel
From the moment I stepped onto the hotel premises I was greeted with utmost nicety by each and every member of the staff. I arrived at noon and asked if i could get a room even though it was three hours before check in time and they were glad to look for one for me and indeed let me in. No mention of additional fee was made. I ordered a King room but they only had a two doubles room this early in the day. However, the room was so beautiful and the beds so comfortable that it made no difference. The only slightly annoying thing was the door which was not very easy to open so if you go there remember you have to push the key all the way to the side, the door know is just an ornament. But the staff is happy to come and help out if needed. Coming back there in the evening felt nice because it's such a lovely and lively neighborhood and the room service prices were more reasonable than n most hotels.

I travel a lot for business, had mixed experience when I used online service. The Sutton Place Hotel way exceeded my expectation not to mention that excellent deal I got.

Trip Type: Business Review 13 of 55Good location, DON'T USE THE VALET.
Hotel was nice, room was huge and well appointed, the neighborhood is one of Chicago's best. BUT THE VALET SERVICE WAS ABYSMAL. The 1st evening it took 20 minutes to get my car. The next morning I planned ahead--I called downstairs 15 minutes before I neeeded the car. The I waited another 25 minutes at the curb. 40 minutes. No one seemed to know why it took so long to retrieve my car or the cars of the growing line of others who were waiting. Some folks who were there ahead of me were still waiting when I finally drove away--late for my meeting. Oh, and the valet charge: $46 for overnite.
