Trip Type: Family Review 2 of 10Great room for money
Quaint older but bequtiful hotel with antiques and great ambiance. Unfortunately, hotel restaraunt which had great reputation has been closed. Bar is still open.

This hotel is in a good neiborhood and well maintained. Very unique atmosphere and well maintained and clean. I would not recomend this hotel for family stays but it is good for business trael or couples.

We selected this hotel for our stay in Miami because it was relatively inexpensive and the positive reviews on Hotel.com outweighed the negatives. The location was convenient and very quiet (we were there a Saturday night and Sunday morning). Staff were friendly, and the hotel itself does have some charm (our kids loved the old-fashioned elevator). It's an easy walk to an excellent French bakery, a Starbucks, and an Einstein bagel shop. However, as another reviewer mentioned, there was a strong disinfectant smell throughout the place - in the halls and in most rooms - and this detracted from our overall impression of the place. Our room ended up not smelling so strongly, but we may have gotten used to it. There was some initial confusion about our reservation - we had reserved a junior suite, and the receptionist said there wasn't one. After looking at an alternate room he determined that there was in fact a junior suite and it was what we expected (large enough for 2 adults and 2 kids). Overall, then, we would not consider this hotel a "find."

Trip Type: Family Review 7 of 10Very Good "Old Fashion" Quality Hotel
A very old, but well maintained quality hotel, located in the heart of Coral Gables that offers a "look back" with personalized service. All rooms and furnishing are different. Very comfortable and convenient.

Trip Type: Family Review 8 of 10Quaint hotel
This small, old-fashioned hotel was perfect for my mom and me. We loved the old sewing machine. Good for people just wanting to relax and have some good mom-daughter time and wind down after a long day in Miami.

Needs improvement. The restaurant was not open and there was not an easy or convenient way to get meals. The hotel is old and could use some renovating.
