Needs Improvement

Well the hotel itself is pretty beat up. Our room was very roomy but needed a major facelift. The view of the ocean would have been perfect had our balcony window been cleaned. While my fiance and I were hanging out on the balcony our neighbor came out and asked us if our room was falling apart. He stated that things were breaking in his room and that he called the front desk to make sure he wasn't going to get charged for it. I don't recommend this hotel.

Rundown

The hotel is run down...falling apart. However, great view. Great location. If you get it for a cheap rate...much cheaper than the surrounding hotels then go for it. If I had to spend $20 bucks more a night for a nearby hotel I would. I would only go back here if I saved around 50% over others. They were friendly though. It's just the hotel itself needs major improvemnts/renovations.

Seriously needs renovation

Room was filthy. Shower curtain was moldy. Floors not vacuumed.....even when requested. Only saving grace was location and Caspers. Food was good.

needs major renovation

this hotel was very dirty, water all over the floor from leaks in the bathroom. The blankets had burn holes and dirty. the carpet was dirty also. When the room was "cleaned" they did not leave toilet paper, soap or shampoo. There was a coffee pot, but no coffee, cups or a basket in the coffee pot. It was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at.

Carpet was filthy, decor was dated. View was wonderful. No place to store valuables in room. Staff friendly and helpful. Elevators constantly breking down. All in all, needs updated.

Terrible Hotel

This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, in my life. There was a boogar looking piece of something on the TV remote that we had to cover in a bag to watch tv. The towels were gross and one had a gnat on it. There was also black hair on some of the new towels we received. The cleaning service didn't come clean our room until 4pm in the afternoon and when we asked for new towels they said they didn't have any and had to wash some. Also, when we left, they said they were not able to give us a receipt because we booked with a third party. It was the worst accomodation I've seen and I would never, ever reccomend this trashy, dumpy, run down, smelly, hotel to anyone. And PS - we did not get what we paid for.

If you're going for the beach, this is the place for you.

Well, the hotel was definitely affordable... Too bad about all the mess though! It seemed like the hotel was on its last legs and everyone knew it. The staff morale was low and the halls and rooms were obviously speed cleaned. That said, the location was perfect. You are right on the beach within walking distances of some great restaurants and only a couple miles away from some of the most popular attractions (i.e. the Inlet and the Aquarium) I went to Virginia for the beach and attractions... The room was more of a place to sleep, store stuff and depart from. to that end, it served its purpose wonderfully.

Great for Students

Before booking I saw quite a few less than happy reviews from families and older couples, but I booked anyways. The staff is great and very relaxed. Perfect for college students traveling with friends. The staff was very helpful with both early check in and late checkout and helped us the whole time we were there. We will definitely stay at Atlantic Sands again

in for the weekend

stayed for the weekend. Bed was ok at best but staff was very friendly and hotel was very accomidating.

It was decent....

The hotel room was clean and adequate, however the lobby was uninviting, the person who checked us in did not look like she was working, and the windows were so dirty you could hardly see through them.. No one to check us out or give us assistance in the morning, everything dark at 8:30am.
