Excellent!

For the money, I dont think you could get a better hotel than Atlantic Sands Oceanfront Hotel. My wife and I had a beautiful view of the beach! Whenever we needed our room serviced we would put the sign on the door, go out on the strip for an hour, and when we came back the room was clean. I highly recommend this hotel!

Okay

The hotel waw right on the beach, loved that I woke up in the morning and didn't even have to get out of bed to see the ocean. Did not have many extra's, there was a clean outside pool, and they had wireless internet in the lobby. There was also a bar/restuarant. The building could use some fresh paint and renovations, but the service was friendly and was less than other ocean fronts hotels in the area.

Bedding

The mattresses on both beds were sunken in the middle. Tended to roll toward the center of the bed. New mattresses would make this not just a good value, but a great one.

Needs improvement

Very dated, very dirty, staff sitting on counters ect. Old dry doughtnuts for breakfast New hotel construction being done next door. We were looking for a quite oceanfront weekend (off season this ususally isnt hard to find) The Hotel was FULL of teens who stayed up until 6 AM very disappointing for us

Great room for the money

My husband and I spent one night during a Virginia getaway and needed to be economical. For the price, this was definitely a good choice. Accommodations are modest, but it was clean and had a great balcony view of the ocean. The hotel was nice and quiet--though it was November and the off-season, so who knows if it's quiet all year-round. The continental breakfast was limited, but I'm not a big breakfast-eater and didn't care. There was no breakfast room to eat in, but we took our coffee to the balcony, which was preferable anyway. My only complaint is that although the room was clean, it had that industrial cleaning supply smell.

Needs Improvement

I was dissappointed in this hotel. You could feel the sand in the carpet and I know that the maid didn't change our sheets. They took our dirty towels, but never gave us clean ones. It took over an hour and a couple of phone calls to get towels. Thank god we bought beach towels for the beach, otherwise, who knows how long we would have waited to take a shower. The desk clerk(s) were great, along with the valet. The view was amazing, but I was expecting more for my money.
