Location & Atmosphere: This hotel was a bit far from the center of the city. Also, in general this hotel had the feeling of a cheap "spring break" style hotel...there were a lot of young people and in general the decor and atmosphere was outdated and a bit rough around the edges. The beaches on this end of town tend to have more local bums spending time there, the beaches near the Royal Hawaiin are much better for atmosphere and the type of people. The hotel decor is tired, which makes it not feel quite as clean. If this is the only hotel available in your budget, it will serve the purpose. If you are looking for a very clean and relaxing oasis, I think you will be dissapointed. On my trip I also stayed at the Sheraton Princess for the same price (actually slightly less), and felt that location was much better and the experience overall there was better. Hotel Staff: The evening staff were friendlier and more responsive than the day staff. My traveling companion checked in before me, and left a key at the desk. When I got it, the clerk gave me the wrong room key, I walked into a mans room!!! The staff did not really appologize or offer anything to make up for this scary error. At times the day staff were actually rude and terse. Traveling With a Car: On the positive, there is a zoo parking lot just across the street, so if you rent a car you can stash it there for a few hours at a time for a few coins...and the road the hotel is on does lead right to the highway, so that was convenient. To park a car overnight is valet only. (cant park overnight in zoo lot)

Upon checking in, I had requested a king sized bed and was told there weren't any. When arriving at our room, the noise from the adjacent room was overwhelming, ie kids. I asked to be moved and was told that the only room available was a room with a king sized bed! Now why didn't they give me that larger room from the get go?

Tipo de viaje: With Friends Reseña 5 de 28Great room for the money!
Do not expect this hotel to be like a 5 star hotel - it isn't but the price isn't either! We had a great room on the ninth floor. We got a free upgrade to an ocean front room, which had a fantastic view of the beach and the pier. The room was bigger than our friends room, which was also on the ninth floor but was an ocean view room. The employees were all nice and helpful. The bathroom was bright and clean, and although there wasn't an outlet in there, there was one right outside the bathroom in a vanity area with a big mirror, so I didn't have to worry about a steamed up mirror from the shower while I was blow-drying and putting on make-up. We also saved on the valet fee by parking for free on the road right in front of the zoo.(drive past the hotel towards the beach and make a left at the light and stay to the left) The hotel definitely could use all sorts of renovations, but then the price would reflect that! Ask for one of the more recently updated rooms on the 6th or 9th floor and you can't go wrong with this hotel!

Would definitely stay here again. Very happy to receive and unexpected upgrade to an oceanfront room (booked ocean view). Stunning view of Diamond Head when standing in front of the door to our room and an amazing view of the beach and ocean from our balcony. Hotel staff was always friendly and very helpful. When our room key was somehow deactivated (minor glitch), the desk person escorted us up to our room, where the hotel engineer was already waiting for us - problem fixed in a matter of minutes. The Park Shore is obviously an older hotel that could use some upgrades, as I know the carpet in our room has seen better days, but for the money it was great. It was better than I had expected. They do charge $20 for valet parking, and do not offer a self parking option, but we didn't even have to use it. During the day we parked across the street in the zoo parking lot (.25/hr. meters) and at night we parked on Kalakaua Ave. in front of the zoo. You may have to walk about a block back to the hotel, but it will save you $20. I wish I was sitting on that balcony right now! Aloha!!

This hotel is located at the end of the "strip" on the oceanfront near a park. The room I had was a little on the smaller side but who spends any time in the hotel while in Hawai'i anyway? The staff was polite and the price I paid was perfect for the location and condition of the hotel vs another hotel I stayed at on the same trip.

The hotel looked great from the pictures on the internet. From the outside of the hotel and the lobby it looked great until you get off the elevator. Then the carpeting looks all worn out and the walls all marked up like someone had repeatedly ran into the walls with something black. The beds were comfortable, but the room needed updating. The room looked as if the room hadn't renovated since the sixties. The heater/air conditioner was ancient and we couldn't figure out how to use it.The carpet was all stained and dirty looking. There were cracks in the walls around the vents and in the ceiling. The view was very nice. Got what we paid for with the view. The bathroom was clean and adiquit.

Tipo de viaje: With Friends Reseña 9 de 28PUBLIC AREAS DIRTY, STAINED AND GROSS
The Park Shore gives you a good value for location and price, but on this trip - there were leaks in the lobby from rainstorms causing the ceiling tiles to collapse. Almost everything was wet or damp with mildewed carpets, stained and falling tiles, police tape and scaffolding everywhere in attempts to patch the gapping holes. The hotel rooms are dated and worn – which one can understand for the price, but the dirty, war torn lobby left me grossed out and not wanting to touch anything. In my opinion, they need to put money into the hotel – or at least in the public areas.

The staff was amazing! They were very helpful and knowledgeable. It was also very convenient to have an ABC store connected to the lobby. It was a great location, we were right across the street from the beach. The only issue with this hotel was that it needs some renovations.

Nice view of ocean, pool and Diamond Head. Room was very small, no king bed, small bathroom but very clean and everything worked.

I requested partical ocean view and got it. one window faceing the ocean, the balcony faceing other hotels. My other friends requested ocean view and payed $20. more for it. And got mountain view and partical ocean view. They were not happy campers. Also their room was smaller. To get ocean view you have to order "full ocean view" not ocean view.

The location is great but the rooms are dated and dirty. The public spaces of the hotel seemed to have been updated, they need to do the rooms. The view is amazing though.

Great hotel. Room was very spacious and clean. Love the location! I always stay @ parkshore. Great local staff. Definetely would recommend park shore to anyone looking for a clean, spacious, great-priced room (really worth the $), a beach-front hotel on waikiki's strip, that caters to both tourist and locals.
