Park Shore Waikiki an Aqua Hotel

Great location, but needs some improvements

I loved the location of the hotel -- right on the corner of Kalakaua (main "strip" in Waikiki) and Kapahulu, a great road into Honolulu... Close to the beach, Diamond Head and the farmer's market. With so many awesome places to eat like Leonard's, Ono Seafood, Ono Hawaiian Foods, etc. It's easy to get in and out of the city from the location. However, our first room was pretty cramped and it was an "adjoining" room -- with the door that connected it to another room. ASK FOR A NON-ADJOINING ROOM! The doors are so thin that we could hear everything - literally - happening in the other room. We were awakened in the middle of our first night by the TV and then snoring of the person in the other room. The snoring was so loud I thought it was my husband at first! We asked to move, and that solved the problem, but I wish I would have known that going in. Also, our room was decently clean, but the bathroom could have been cleaner... Overall, a great value for the location.

Great Bargain

I had many reservations choosing this hotel because of the rating on hotels.com and the low price. I expected the worst. I arrived to find very friendly and intellegent staff ready with a smile and willing to assist me in all ways. Lobby carpets were constant being maintained. The resteraunts that share the facility were also very good making the stay even more convienent. The location was perfect. Just off the main street with ocean views and the clearest most unobstructed hotel view of Diamondhead of any hotel along the strip. Rooms were small and basic but who comes to Waikiki to spend time in the rooms anyway?

1960's hotel with rude staff

OK hotel. Valets were the nicest people I met at the hotel. Front desk staff need some lessons in customer care. Price was OK but will spend more to stay a step up next time. 2.5 stars may be stretching it...
