Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 29Great room for the money.
We like to stay at the Regal Sun because of the great rates we find AND because it's so near Downtown Disney. You can't beat the stay for the discounted rates.

Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 29Room a value.
Located near Dowmtoen Disney with free shuttle to other attractions. Price of food in hotel was a poor value but so were the food prices in the area.

I saw the reviews online and I still book the room. Huge mistake! the reviews were right. As an example we woke up early to go to the parks and when we returned at 9PM our bed was not made, I was very dissapointed because the least you expect in a hotel is to get there and find your bed done!even more if you are staying at a resort at the Disney complex! We complain and the personal of the hotel was trying to excuse themselves asking me if we had leave the "do not disturb" sign at the door. Eventhough I asure them that was not the case, they did not do anything to apologize. After an hour they send someone to make the bed but I would never go back to that hotel in my life.

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 29Fair experience for a fair price
It was a good hotel for the price I paid. Pretty common areas (lobby and pool), but actual rooms could use some updating. Great location though. I would come back just because of the convenience of the constant round trip park buses and walking distance to Downtown Disney. It helped save lots of money and time on transportation and parking fees. Only caveat would be don't trust the coupon that entitles you to a "complimentary welcome package" when you check-in. The package has maps you can grab at any park and useless coupons to places you probably don't want to go to and it is provided by a third-party hotel that has an ulterior sales motive.

Trip Type: Romance Review 8 of 29Bed Bugs- Make Sure your room is clean!
We checked into one room on one side of the hotel. The room smelled as though it had not been touched in ages. As we pulled back our sheets there were bugs in the bed. We asked to get switched to another room and the room we were switched to was on the other side of the hotel, but also contained bugs in the bed. We were unhappy and decided to leave the hotel without staying there. The rooms are not very clean so you should not stay there if you do not like unclean rooms or bugs for that matter. The good part is this hotel does have a nice pool and is located in a good area that is somewhat near the Disney parks.

Trip Type: Romance Review 9 of 29Good room for the price paid
This hotel was a good hotel for the price we paid to stay there. They had a shuttle included in your stay that would run you to any of the disney parks, which was nice. However, these shuttles only run a half hour at a time and sometimes they were packed full, so you had to make sure you either got on early enough or later in the day. The rooms were nice for the price, they were clean and there was a fridge in the standard room, which was also nice. The maid service was there everyday, however the annoying thing about some days was that they would come early in the morning (maybe around 8) and tap on the door. I wasn't always up that early because it's my vacation. The front desk was pretty nice. Only one big problem during my stay. When we booked our trip on here it said we got a $25 food voucher. The hotel said i didn't get it, but said they would give it to me if I printed it out. So i had to pay the business center to get a card and print it out. After that they gave me the voucher. The food at the place they gave me the voucher for was very expensive. We got 2 drinks (alcoholic) and 2 tuna sandwiches. Cost us the voucher plus $5. The location of this hotel was pretty good, it was right down from downtown disney. We walked down there at night after being at the parks all day. The hotel also seemed to be doing some construction there, which we didn't see mentioned going on when booking the trip. It wasn't on our end of the hotel but it was in places we walked. They should also make the elevators there not as confusing, as the lobby is on the 3rd floor and we didn't realize that at first and ended up in the wrong place. I recommend not buying your food at the hotel unless you have to. A cab ride for morning breakfast at the nearby Sizzler cost $20 round trip when Sizzler was only a 3 minute drive. I thought that was a big outrageous. So I also recommend not taking a cab unless you have to. They also charged me more money at the hotel than originally on the website

Trip Type: Romance Review 10 of 29Need much improvement
The rooms were motel 8 standards at best; the decorative style of the room was not what one would expect for that location (Downtown Disney). Furthermore, the location were the reservation was made, which it was suppose to be pool side view, end up been no view at all. Also, No turn down service was provided at all, during our two night stay. The only positive aspects of this hotel were the amenities that were provided for the hotel guest and their kids (videos game room, Disney Characters, kid's activities, etc).

Trip Type: Romance Review 11 of 29Great Place but Bad Service
reserved a suite facing Disney which cost more but they put us in a regular room, once we went downstairs to talk to management he was rude, argumentative and resisted to give us the room we paid for even with the Hotels.com receipt. After we insisted that we either wanted our money back or the room we reserved the manager finally decided to give us our room. The hotel is very nice, the room was very comfortable but breakfast was poor for the price

Trip Type: Romance Review 12 of 29Bad experience!!!`
The walls are so thin you can hear someone in the next room. We had to call down to the front desk at 11:00 pm to ask that they speak with the people in the next room. They we slamming doors, screaming kids etc. When we called the front desk they did not want to deal with it.

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 29If you need a credit card for "incidentals," don't charge me twice
After pre-paying for the room through hotels.com, the Regal Sun charged my credit card for the entire amount. I needed to spend time on the phone with them to get a refund.

Trip Type: Romance Review 14 of 29Great Location - Slow Service - Odd Layout
Perched right across from Downtown Disney made for great walkable adventures to Pleasure Island. Location couldn't have been better. Slow hotel service, long lines at check in and out with minimal assistance available and employees that would rather watch you wait in line than help you. Main hotel buiding was great in layout and presentation. Less expensive rooms are on the edge of the building and require an odd series of elevator rides to get to depending on where you're coming from. Outer rooms are outdated (particuarly bathrooms) and inconvenient to hotels ammenities. The affordability justified this.

Trip Type: Romance Review 15 of 29Great Location - Great Service
The hotel is within walking distance of Downtown Disney in a safe area. All of the hotel staff was friendly, and able to give great reccomendations as to local attractions and dining. The pool area is excellent with great poolside food and drinks. I do not have kids, but can say the resort was great for adults - all the kids however, seemed happy and well accomodated. I live in Florida and will likely go to this hotel everytime I visit Orlando.
