Trip Type: Romance Review 3 of 29If you dont have kids dont go here!
This hotel, or should I say "Resort", (which they pretty much just use that word so they can charge and extra $30 resort fee on top of the $189 per night) is nice. However if you are not into golf and you don't have children the price isn't worth the stay. There is a decent sized water park but its of course full of kids. I could have stayed at best western inn and suites and been just as comfortable and happy with the accomadations for less than half the price.

Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 29Great Pools
The hotel was amazing, expensive but amazing. Great parts: the bell hops/door men...anything you wanted, they had it!! They were overly friendly and, if they could help, they did. As a couple without kids, the pools were amazing. There was an adult pool where no children under the age of 16 were allowed! This was so refreshing. The pool was quiet and relaxing and had an amazing big hot tub. Then there was a family pool which looked like a flurry of crazy family fun. The biggest attraction of course was the water park. We had friends with kids come to visit and they thoroughly enjoyed the water park! Down-sides: The restaurants were not that good. The Rustler's roost was fun if you had kids but not if you were really looking for a good steak or dinner. Aunt Chilada's was fun for margarita's but not that good of food. You can find better in Tempe or Phoenix. Recommendations: If it is not the dead of summer, rent a bike (they have a place that delivers) and take a tour of Tempe. Overalll, the hotel was a great splurge. Not a big fan of the resort fee ($30 a day!!) but it was great.

The staff was fabulous and courteous. There is everything you need right there on the property. The resturants are amazing. The room was clean and the bed was amazingly comfortable.

Trip Type: Romance Review 10 of 29"In-town" vacation
We live in Gilbert, but wanted to stay out of the house for a night and go swimming (it was a really hot day.) We picked this hotel because the pictures showed a huge pool with many slides. Yes, for a hotel (and not a water park) it was fun. However, the pictures made the pool park seem much bigger than it really is. My husband didn't even want to go in the water because it was so crowded. So, we went of 2 slides and went around the "tube lazy river" once. It was just too packed/stuffy and annoying to do any more. Also, the river was closed for a couple of hours for repair (which happens, I guess.) I wouldn't stay here again - unless I was visiting from out of town. We also went to the rest. up on the hill for dinner. We got a free ride there from the hotel (though we waited 1/2 hour for them to come get us - but it was free, (we tipped, most people prob. don't though.) Really not a bad hotel at all though.

Trip Type: Romance Review 11 of 29Poor Service
While stying here, I was exposed to several different service people, waitstaff, cleaning crew, bartenders, and lifeguards. Not ONE of these people were helpful, polite, or freindly. In fact, they were just the opposite. During my stay, I was snapped at and treated as if I was an Inconvenience to the people working there. I never have felt so unwelcome at a hotel before. In addition, upon checking out of my room, I accidently left a new college textbook (that I had just purchased for my nephew) there and immediately called to make sure that I could get it back (seeing as though it cost $210) I was told that "nothing turned up" and that there was nothing that anyone could do to help me. After several letters and phonecalls, the book "turned up" again about 1 1/2 weeks later. The book was out of its wrapping and badly damaged (several pages were unreadable). I was not offered an apology, or a replacement for this book and the lost and found manager was as rude to me as the rest of the staff there. While the rooms and ammenities at the Arizona Gand Resort were above my expectations, I would have to say that the rest of my experience was so poor that I would not recommend this resort to family, or friends.

We loved our stay at The Arizona Grand Resort. The waterpark was a lot of fun. We really liked our room. And the athletic room was really nice.

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 29Super comfy bed!
The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. I had to get late check-out because it was so amazing I couldn't get out of bed by noon. Waterpark was really fun and the bar had some delicious drinks :) Only disappointment was at night the swimming pools were swarming with little bugs - probably attracted to the lights. overall, a great place for a romantic weekend!
