needs repairs, needs better customer service

Do not stay at this place. I booked online- which has inherent risk- but, this place was truly a disappointment. We decided to look at the rooms to be sure we would be happy. The first room reeked of smoke (we had requested non-smoking) and the second room we looked at (on the 5th floor) had a sliding glass door that was - no lie- duct-taped shut. When my 5 year old daughter leaned against it to try to see the ocean, the door popped open and leaned out! It scared us. We went immediately back down to the front desk and reported both the smoke-filled hallway and the door incident. Needless to say, we did not stay in this place. The location is great - right on the beach. But, other than that, it's difficult for me to recall anything good to report. This hotel was called "Lauderdale by the Sea" and I would never recommend it to any of my friends or family.

Good one night stay

This is a good hotel for a one night stay we where allowed to check in at 11:30 AM. Stayed for one night before our cruise, easy to find. Nice restaurant & bar quiet non-smoking room, grocery store across the street & numerous restaurants & bars close within walking distance.

Great value; excellent location

Needs big improvement inside and outside bldg.

BATHTUB WAS DIRTY AND DRAIN WAS COMPLETELY CLOGGED WITH TON OF HAIR AND OTHERS. I ALSO FOUND RED LIPSTICK ON COFFEE CUP. I COMPLAINED TO FRONT DESK AND THEY PROMISED TO GET ANOTHER ONE NEXT DAY BUT SAME CUP WAS THERE AND ALSO THE BED SHEET WAS NOT CHANGED. HOTEL MANAGER OFFERED DISCOUNT 50% FROM COST FROM HOTEL.COM BUT THEY DID NOT DISCOUNT THE RATE. HOTEL BUILDING NEEDS MAJOR RENOVATION INSIDE AND OUTSIDE IN MANY WAYS SUCH AS WALL PAPER WAS PEELING OFF, FULL OF TRASH AROUND HOTEL PARKING LOT, AND THE SMELL WAS BAD,BUT HOTEL LOCATION WAS GOOD TO ACCES TO THE BEACH. THE SERVICE OF THE HOTEL WAS NOT GOOD.

Its all about location- not much else

Hotel under renovation. front desk not helpful. Intermittant wireless service. Kept getting bumped off. No help from hote. Stayed here 20 years ago, was great. Location is why I stayed.

needs improvement

Great location for the price but renovations are at a snail's pace--information before booking was misleading concerning this. Management needs some organization.

cool beach hotel

My teenaged children and I stayed here for one night on our way to a cruise. The hotel was in avg. condition, but the bar, pool, and step-right-onto-the beach location were great. We wish we could have stayed longer and will probably go back. Give it a try if you like fun, reasonably priced hotels.

Needs improvement

Room needed to be updated. Elevator in lobby was hot and stuffy not even a fan. Later on in day elevator was out of order. Actually I was on it when there was a jolt and doors did not open. I was lucky to press open door and got out on another floor. Elevator was out of service for a day.
