Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 23Great hotel
Shinagawa Prince Hotel is located right on the Yamanote line so this is VERY convenient if you are new to Japan. All the staff work very hard to make your stay good and many speak English. One great benefit is that you can take the Airport Limousine Bus direct to and from Narita Airport. There are also an abundance of restaurants in the area including a very good TGIF (Japanese version). I will stay here again.

Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 23Not bad
I stayed in the East Tower, which is not nearly as nice as the North Tower, but it is not that bad. The room is very small and has probably the smallest bathroom I have ever seen, but is was very clean. The downside to staying in the East Tower (besides the size) is that the internet access is pretty expensive, about 1000 yen/day. The only other complaint that I have with this hotel is that they advertise a pool, but the pool costs money to use too, it's not free. The great thing about this hotel is that it is right across the street from the train station. There is a nice food market in the train station and plenty of restaurants around the hotel. I really enjoyed the hotel's sky bar which has an amazing view of the city. If you are looking for a cheap and convenient hotel in Tokyo, this is not a bad choice.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 23Outstanding in the Main Tower, not the East Tower
Be sure you stay in the Main Tower, far superior to the East Tower

Trip Type: Business Review 4 of 23Convenient and useful for business stay
I find this hotel useful For clean, no-frill, convenient, short-term stay in Tokyo. The location works for me well and I am OK wih the no-frill service and breakfast facilities. Does not have GYM, SPA or other such facilities which I am OK with, as I usually go for jogging around the residentail neighborhood near the hotel.

Best bargain in Shinagawa area when comparing prices.

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 23Convenience and value
Incredibly inexpensive for Tokyo. Tradeoff is that the immediate neighborhood has few attractions and distance from "hot" areas prohibits a realistic walk back to the hotel. So one is tied to the schedule of the last JR Yamanote train back to Shinagawa Station by around midnight (check schedule). Otherwise, you'll be spending a lot for a taxi ride back. If you don't plan on staying out late (or stay out until dawn when the trains start running), then this hotel is perfect since it's right across the street from the station and the Yamanote Line takes you to all of the major transportation nodes. There are, however, no subway stations within convenient walking distance so you'll have to take the Yamanote Line and transfer to the subway line you desire. Hint: Buy a Passmo card at the Information booth and charge it up with 2,000 or 3,000 worth of yen so you won't have to figure out the fares and fumble for change at each gate. It's good for both the JR Yamanote Line and the different subway lines.

Great toilet and tub. Comfy for Japan. Nice linens. Friendly staff.

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 23Great Hotel - though bit of a maze
Upscale Japanese room with all of the amenities. The hotel itself is a maze of escalators, leading to elevators, leading to halls and towers. If you can find your room you'll find some cheeze.

Trip Type: Business Review 10 of 23Modern, Comftorable, Convenient, Great Value
The Shinagawa Prince had very friendly and attentive lobby staff (they even helped me wrap presents for someone that I purchased elsewhere), clean, comfortable and modern rooms with an LCD TV, a reasonable daily rate, and located in a nice area conveniently close to the Shinagawa Train\Metro Station. There was also some great amenities that I didn't check out, including an aquarium, numerous shops and more. I'm visiting Tokyo again in a few months and wouldn't consider a different hotel -- I was highly satisfied at the Shinagawa Prince.

Trip Type: Business Review 11 of 23Be picky with room selection
I highly recommend the more renovated rooms for the 10 or 20 dollars more per night it will cost. I can vouch for the Main Tower Renovated High Floor rooms. Internet was free for this room type (and about 60Mbps), the room was clean, and you can't beat the location right next to Shinagawa Station. Excellent place. Half the cost of something like the ANA and similar amenities and better location.

Trip Type: Business Review 12 of 23Main tower is nicer than the north tower
Try to stay in the newer main building. My stay was in the north tower and it felt old. The north tower is also quite hidden and difficult to find within the complex.

Trip Type: Business Review 14 of 23Need good reviews of different suites within
Prior to this trip I used Shinagawa Prince Aniex, which was fairly good. However this time I stayed in recently renovated main tower room. The price was roughly $10 more at night and about the same size of other, amenity was so much better.
