Trip Type: Romance Review 3 of 43Outstanding Hotel
The roof top pool was pleasently heated. We spent most of our stay by the pool or by the lobby, where there was live music. The room was very clean, and the view from the 8th floor was very nice. The food at the restaurant was excellent.

Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 43Decent Hotel - Nice Atmosphere - Polite Employees
The Hotel is very nice. The room (Medium) was fairly basic but decent. My husband was a fan of the peek-a-boo shower. It is not the hotel's fault but there is a lot of construction going on outside on the streets at night & it can be pretty disruptive when trucks are driving down the street all night & beeping, etc. The bar was fun - we only stayed for a few minutes as it was pretty expensive to drink there. We ended up across the street at The Library Bar which is much more laid back & the drinks are much more affordable. The staff at the hotel were helpful. The valets were a little crazy - plus parking is a bit difficult to find if you're not familiar with the area. One reviewer noted you had to do Valet & pay the $30 for it - that is not true. If you are not planning to take your car in/out a bunch, there are plenty of downtown lots that are cheaper. There is even one connected to the back side of the Standard that is less. We found the valet helpful as we took our car in/out a few times during our short stay. I would recommend this hotel to others but definitely bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper.

Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 43Not so great for the money
This hotel is expensive for what it is worth. We booked an extra large room and was upgraded to a gigantic room because it was not available. Wouldn't say the larger rooms are worth it but we stayed in a medium room too, which was worth what the price was. The roof top bar/pool is nice. This hotel is not all it is hyped up to be but is decent overall and is a hotel you should only stay at once to see how it is.

Trip Type: Romance Review 9 of 43alright
It's an interseting hotel, I think the rooms could of had more too them, they wrer just a bed and a tv not even a tv stand. Service was good, and the gym was really cool, and the roof top pool wase excellent. No jacuzzi though that was a bummer.

Great value; Club on the rooftop was fun - we went there the 3 nights we stayed at the hotel (free admission). Buy drinks in the restaurant downstairs to avoid being overcharged and bring your own alcohol as well. Parking at the hotel is expensive so be prepared to add that to the total cost of your trip.

Room was too small, the TV stand was too low, the bathroom lighting low and sink set up too ackward.

Trip Type: Romance Review 14 of 43Very nice. Just expect to pay $ for vallet parking
Nice service, clean, simple. Just because it is in downtown area, expect to pay $$ three-zero per night for vallet parking. And you can find other parking facilities, but overnight and flat rate would be more expensive than vallet parking. The convenience of vallet parking is you can take out the car as many times as you like in 24hrs.

Trip Type: Romance Review 15 of 43Fun and hip hotel
My first night here at the Standard Hotel my husband and I had the HUGE room and the second night we had the LARGE room. I really liked this room but not as much as the HUGE room. What I did like about this room is that it’s different from ordinary hotel rooms, very modern and hip and I like how they make the bathrooms so different with glass walls that overlook the bed area. You literally can see the WHOLE bath room through that one glass wall but there is a curtain that can be closed for potty privacy LOL. Basically this room felt like just a HOTEL room only with alittel more detail. The huge room it felt like a huge room that you don’t have at home. Don't get me wrong I still liked it... Roof top bar is a must see. They say it's a club but it feels more like a kick back area in where you can sit drink and chat with your friends; you can also dance if you like. Very cool hotel will definitely go back!
