Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 23Horribly Hot!!!
We stayed 2 nights and hated it. They have upgraded this hotel quite a bit. Its really very modern and decorated nicely. What the huge problem is, is that they didnt replace their AC units. Both nights it was absolutely the hottest inside the room then one could ever imagine. I complained repeatedly to the front desk and all they did was bring us another fan. A fan that would just move that hot air around the room. We didnt get any sleep at all and had a long day at the Diamondbacks game and then had a very long drive home. You would think they would have fixed the coolers way before purchasing all those decorations. The night we got home I called to complain and vertually got no where. Even after the hotels front desk told me that Hotels.com would refund my money, because they had a guarantee. Well I'm not happy with my stay and didnt even so much as get a "Sorry".

Trip Type: Family Review 2 of 23Four days with the Daughters
Daughter #3 flew in for Daughter #2 Birthday. We picked her up from the airport and spent 4 days in Pheonix. The Clarendon was a very nice place to stay. Built in the 1960's and has that feeling about it. The pool area was really beautiful. The service was excellent. The restruant inside was nice. The people working there were extremely helpful. A lot of effort has been made to redo the rooms and bring the hotel up to date. I would stay there again.

Trip Type: Family Review 3 of 23Great Hotel
I loved it. Very modern looking great pool and huge hottub. I would def return. THe only negative I have is the restaurant did not have too much variety, but the drinks are cheap and they make them nice and strong and they let you drink them by the pool. We had a great time

Trip Type: Family Review 4 of 23The best customer service...BUT
The staff was wonderful, always helpful, printing out directions, giving food suggestions, putting together cribs...etc...BUT the room...the bathroom was very small, bed was uncomfortable, but I loved the 300 plus count sheets, there was just a slant to the entire bed. There was also a loud pool party 2 nights in a row...if you are single and wanna go the a great pool party here's the place to stay, but if you have a family don't stay there on the weekends, it was really loud. I have to commend the staff for being so helpful, it made the stay so much nicer.

Trip Type: Family Review 7 of 23Excellent service
We stayed at the Clarendon for three nights. First suite we were in left a bit to be desired - some lights not working, window looked out onto a parking lot where a street light shone directly into the room, only one bathrobe, noisy pipes etc. Since it was late, we decided not to change rooms. The next morning, we spoke with the front desk personnel and they couldn't have been nicer. They moved us to an upgraded suite which was perfect! A manager/owner gave us his business card and told us to contact him if there was anything else amiss. The pool was cold, even though it was listed as a heated pool but the hot "tub" was fantastic. Actually, it wasn't a tub but a large rectangular pool! There weren't any towels left but the front desk quickly resupplied them. Bartender fixed some great drinks for us to take to the pool area. All in all - the service was teriffic - management bent over backwards to please us.

Trip Type: Family Review 9 of 23Good hotel, needs to be finished
The hotel was really nice, the service was good ,and the pool was great. It seemed like the new owners did a great job it just seems like they need to tighten loose ends. Overall, great hotel. I would stay there again

Trip Type: Family Review 10 of 23Needs Maintenance
I was very dissappointed by the quality of this hotel. From the website, I had the impression that this was going to be an upscale boutique hotel with an indoor pool. The cooridors of the hotel are exterior and so is the pool (from the photos). The first negative impression is the elevator which is badly scratched because the doors don't shut properly. Then, when we entered the room there were scratches, holes, dings and dents in the walls and paint. The drains in the tub and sink weren't affixed and there was an orange goo on the bathroom ceiling. The tiles on the bathroom floor were chipped and the vent and smoke detector in the ceiling were not properly installed so there were gaps in the drywall. The bed and bedding was comfortable, but the down comforters didn't have duvets, just flat sheets on both sides of the comforter. I took pictures of all the damage in the room as well and will be sending those photos to the hotel management. The hotel has potential, but is in desperate need of repair (at least room 204 is).

Trip Type: Family Review 11 of 23I didn't want to leave
I really liked a lot of things about this hotel- the decor, the bed, the towels were amazing, the flat screen TV, the staff, etc. My only problems were the internet didn't work in my room and Ii couldn't get any hot water in the shower. But, the staff did say they were going to work on it. If you HAVE to have internet, I would check before agreeing to that specific room. But, there was something very special about the Clarendon. I almost stayed another day it was so comfortable. I loved all the little touches, like the power strips and available outlets. I will come back to this hotel, if I ever visit Phoenix again.

Trip Type: Family Review 15 of 23Very Young Hotel - Needs Improvement
When we arrived at the hotel we were given a room on the 2nd floor and were told we were upgraded to a King Suite. Great, we thought - until we were told the elevator was broken! Room did not have proper air conditioner - used swamp cooler. Nice bed, tv, bar, etc. but that did not make up for the very warm room. Spent the next day out, came back to the room to find that the bed was made and bathroom was cleaned but none of the garbage cans were emptied, mini-bar was not restocked, ice bucket not dumped, no new glasses given (or cleaned), room was not vacuumed. There is apparently a great bar and new pool area so if you are young and looking only for that, this hotel is for you. If not, keep looking.
