Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 123Nice boutique hotel
The hotel is an updated "motel" with a nice vibe, great restaurant and super helpful staff. Location was not convenient for me (needed to go downtown to conference center) which was a $15 cab ride (and there is nothing nearby at all. However, when open, the restaurant was fantastic and great atmosphere, roof top deck very nice and staff very acommodating.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 123The restaurant is phenomenal!
The on-site restaurant was a delightful surprise -- one of the best high-end burgers I ever did eat!

Trip Type: Business Review 4 of 123The Clarendon experience...
Purple painted hallway walls, art deco interior and staff... bed was comfortable, room was very clean. Like the espresso machine in the room! Walls too thin to keep out the sounds of very amourous couples!

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 123Loved this hotel
We are fine artists from Santa Barbara on tour and loved this hotel! It is definitely in trend and a welcome relief from standard offerings. The roof top lounge is a must - we caught it at sunset, spectacular. Restaurant is excellent as was the margarita that we had by the pool which in itself is an art form. Bed was luxurious, robe a nice touch, large flat screen HDTV and Aveda products...have already recommended it to friends. It is where we will stay in Phoenix.

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 123Great Hipster Hotel in Downtown Arizona
I loved this hotel! I am a young professional and appreciated all of the quirky details of this "hipster" hotel--the great pool, the great music at the pool, the great restaurant, the great music at the restaurant, the great roof deck bar, and the great music at the roof deck bar. The savy staff who were really helpful, pointed me to great spots to check out in Phoenix and dressed in their own clothes and not some stuffy obnoxious uniform. Huge bonus for me, NO CHILDREN. There was no policy against children, it just seemed that the average hotel guest was younger and sans-family. Which made my business trip all the more pleasant!

A/C went out after two nights of not very comfortable room temperature. Staff did move my room and were pleasant.

Trip Type: Business Review 9 of 123Needs improvement
Got this hotel last minute for a one night stay. Entered my room but was humid inside with a under-functioning air condition. Controls inside the room did not work. No fan inside room either. Needed to iron clothes, no iron inside room. Called room service for it, did not bring it after 15 minutes of waiting so had to call again to get it. Location is kinda sketchy and out of the way a bit. Would not stay at this hotel again.

Trip Type: Business Review 10 of 123Internet not working
We needed internet and called ahead before booking the reservation to make sure the hotel had wireless internet access. They said that they did and that it was reliable. When we got there, we could connect for about 5 minutes at a time and would get kicked off. After calling the front desk, and going there twice, they said that they would reset the router. We had to check out a day early because we couldn't keep a connection.

Trip Type: Business Review 12 of 123Funky and fun
Needed a reasonable, downtown hotel for business, and didn't want a standard hotel experience. The Clarendon was a welcome surprise. 50's funk meets 21'st century convenience. The rooms were large and comfy, the lobby was cool, the pool was a great retreat form the heat, with its outdoor sofas, waterfall and misters. The hot tub was the largest I had ever seen, seating 25. Unfortunately, the rooftop bar was closed the day we got there, but I look forward to catching the views and drinking a martini there the next time around. We will definately be back!

Trip Type: Business Review 13 of 123dissapointed, even for the price
I booked the Clarendon because the buzz on the street was that it was the new "hip" hotel, and the price was unbeatable. This hotel did not meet expectations, even for the price. First, the website promises internet access in the room, which I needed because I was their on business. The internet worked intermittently, and was completely unreliable. Second, It was 110 degrees in AZ while I visited. The hotel room was muggy and warm. They provide a fan, and you need it. The AC was terrible. I was uncomfortably warm in the room. Third, they promise a fitness center. Well, the have one, but it's filled with old, squeeking, and squaking machines, that may be from the late eighties sometime. Plus the "fitness center" was at least 8o degrees. The staff could care less about any of it by the way. I called about the internet twice, and they didn't even try to feign an interest. On a positve note. The restaurant on property is awesome. the food was the best Mexican I've had in ages.

Trip Type: Business Review 14 of 123I Was Very Pleased.
I found my stay at this hotel to be very pleasant. I had read all of the previous comments of the hotel before I went, and I found only a few of the negative ones to be accurate. THe staff is friendly and helpful. Yes the place looks like an office building, but it adds to its embiance. Covered parking is a great plus, especially for 118 degree days and it was within a couple miles of everything that I had to get too. The pool and spa are by far one of the best hotel pool & spa's I have ever been at and I stay at a lot of hotels. I did find it was a little noisy up to midnight when the pool closes, but i was prepared for that, so it was no big deal. Once midnight hit, it was extremely quiet and I finally rested and rested well. I would recommend this hotel and I plan to stay in the future.

Trip Type: Business Review 15 of 123not what it seems
The over all layout online is not what the hotel really is, after you drive up to the hotel its in a very old building and as you walk in you feel like you just walk into a hotel in the 50's. nothing worked in the hotel, exspect the t.v. the bath room was not clean, and it was not a good time
