perfect vacation hotel

This hotel is perfect for anyone here to vacation. The location is excellent, you are 10 minutes from the beach, Sea World, the zoo -- it only took us 20 minutes to get up to Legoland. The rooms are very clean and the staff very courteous and eager to help. The pool and especially the hot tub were very nice, too. Let's face it, when you vacation in San Diego you are here to DO STUFF not chill in your hotel room - you just want to come back at the end of the day and find a clean room with none of your stuff stolen. This is that place.

Great hotel and excellent location

The hotel is older but in good shape for the age. The room was great and the bed was comfy. The hotel staff were excellent at giving directions. They even had directions to all close areas you might want to go to printed on the back of the hotel map. I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone staying in San Diego wanting to see the sights!

I was surprised at what we got for the money.

For an inexpensive hotel this was great. After all how much time do you spend in your room when you are on vacation? Mirowave and fridge was included in our room. Wonderful!

Needs minor improvement

Carpet in the hall was a little dirty.went barefoot and our feet were black when we got back to room. Other than that really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone. Great location and the shuttle drivers were very nice.

good value

Not an outstanding hotel, but a good value at a convenient, central location. The pool area is a litle disappointing, as it is small, and in the parking lot, more or less.

Decent place to stay

This was a good hotel for what we needed. It smelled a little like mildew but we got used to it after a while. The restaurant is convenient but usually understaffed and not that great of food. Everyone who worked there were very nice and helpful. The shuttle even took us to and from the trolley station.

Great price, convenient location, great staff.

We have stayed at this Ramada twice, both for weekend trips. Great location, conveniently located 10 minutes from the train, Old Town, and Sea World. Great tavern and restaurant. Clean room, good size. I'm a frequent traveler, staying at Hiltons, Hyatts, The W, etc. Could pay more, but why? Very friendly and helpful staff. Even have a shuttle to Old Town. From there you can take the "trolly" / train down to 5th for dinner if you want to save money and have a bit of adventure. We will definitely be coming back.

Smoking rooms

The room reeked of smoke. I asked to move but they only had smoking rooms left. I wouldn't have booked had I known that.
