Outstanding Hotel

Wow, what a wonderful place! Besides all the comforts of home, the architecture had a very "Frank Lloyd Wright" fen shui feeling. Very soothing. So convenient to do the wine country and even to run over to Bodega Bay. When we go back that way, this is where we staying. No breakfast served but we're the type that like to enjoy local fare anyway. They do always have a bowl of apples in the lobby if you need a quick snack and the bar has great happy hour specials 2 days a week!

Exceeded my expectations

The night prior to the one we stayed at Fountaingrove Inn we stayed at another hotel for twice the money and didn't like it at all. Fountaingrove Inn had a nice very comfortable room with an excellent hotel service. The only thing that dampened our experience with the hotel was their restaurant. We ate breakfast there and were very disappointed in both the quality of food and service (should have taken the lack of people at lunch/dinner times as a sign...). Overall recommendation is to definitely stay at the hotel, but eat elsewhere. There are a number of very nice reasonable eateries in an easily drivable distance.

Great Hotel

The hotel is excellent and has delicious meals available for room service and a restaurant with a seperate bar. They have a nice pool, with several ammenities during the day, such as snacks, free wine tasting passes to the local vineyards, and meeting rooms. I was disappointed that the wine bar was not open at all during the 5 days we spent there, but the staff and the hotel are are both top notch and very accomodating. We had an enjoyable stay.

Fountaingrove was LOVELY!

The staff were friendly - and that is hardly ever the case for hotels purchased online these days. The room was beautiful - well kept and the bed was so comfortable I was pleased beyond speaking. Location was great as my mom and I were day tripping around wine country and the coast. Would recommend highly...

Nice hotel

This hotel is right off US101 and easy to get to. Hotel is a nice size (not too big) and room was very comfortable (we had a king bed). Free Wireless internet was great. Nice decor in room and lobby (had wine tasting on the Friday evening we were there.)

Reluctant Service

While the hotel was clean and aesthetic looking, the service was lousy. It started at check in where the attitude was "I guess I have to check you in, but you are really inconveniencing me." It seemed that every request we made was "Sorry, we don't do that" and no advice or alternatives given. This even applies for services listed in their own brochure - "well, we don't do that anymore" Bottom line, we were disappointed and greatly inconvenienced - we will not return.

Quick fix for my incorrect dates

The reservations I made were for the wrong dates; however, newer person said she knew it could be fixed although she had never done it. A quick call to another reservationist and the fix was made cheerfully, with remarks to me about how it happens all the time (so I wouldn't feel so dumb)! The room was nice and very convenient for the wine country tour we took. Next time I'll ask for one away from the road as the road noises were noticeable, but did not interfere with sleeping.

Very good hotel

The Fountaingrove Inn Hotel is very nice - clean, modern decor, comfortable. The location is very convenient (just off US 101 in Santa Rosa in the heart of Sonoma County)...it is not a romantic location for the wine country, but perfectly located for checking out the area.
